Hi all, why would I be getting petrol fumes in my cabin under hard acceleration?

It seems to be coming through the air con vents.

I've found my exhaust has a leak, but this is after the manifold, so can't see how fumes are getting into the cabin.

There isn't a manifold leak so wondering if it could be coming from somewhere around the engine bay.

Thanks

Could be any number of things, anything that handles fuel, make sure they're tight. Fuel filter, fuel lines, spark plugs etc.
Ok thanks, I need to find a specialist who can diagnose this sort of problem.

OK, lets try again.

Are you getting petrol fumes or exhaust fumes, you mention both?
Exhaust fumes are petrol fumes aren't they?

I've taken it to a mechanic, and they found it's the centre section, has a massive hole in it, blowing directly upwards!

Er..... No.

Petrol fumes are the vapours that are given off by petrol and are EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE.

Exhaust fumes are the products of combustion in gaseous form that are then sent down the exhaust pipe, they are not flammable but are EXTREMELY TOXIC.
Ok understood, thanks.
