From my limited truck knowlege, I'd say Seddon Atkinson is like Rover.

They used to be a competitive premium brand, but went downhill sharply (I dont know why though) and are now only bought by the bottom bargain-basement fleet market (ie council gritters and bin trucks)

Iveco sacked the Seddon Atkinson brand in 2006.

Imagine this one must be rather unique considering its RHD too!

That' looks fantastic, we have a Scania T cab Topline on our fleet but compared to the NH they look distinctly "Average"

Yes Foden forever!!! Friend has a late foden with a c12 cat 450hp he is looking for a Acert C15 twin turbo to drop in it!!! engine will be a little tall so cab floor or cab needs to be raised
He says he wont be happy untill it will do all the hills on the M62 in top on the limiter with a fully loaded lowloader!! drivingcloud9

I realise that in some circumstances a larger engine can give increased fuel economy (380 in a six wheeler, for instance), but surely the fuel cost there has to outweigh any benefits? Cat engines are very heavy on fuel and you can easily see <6mpg from a 380 in an eight wheeler!

Im aware of of a V8 Scania tractor stretched, with a new insulated tarmac body on it.

It has over double the power usually found in that configuration and the diesel mileage is around 6-8mpg, but the man is always smiling.

This statement is proof that if we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place

If it were up to me I'd scrap every Foden I came across, not once driven one that was any good.

Volvo is owned by Volvo, which in turn is owned by Ford however I'm not sure if Ford own the truck side of Volvo
Only Volvo cars were owned by Ford who purchased them in 98 or 99, now owned by the Zhejiang Geely Group. Volvo trucks have always been owned by the Volvo Group.
The Volvo Group also own:
Volvo Trucks
Volvo Buses
Volvo Penta
Volvo Construction Equipment
Volvo Financial Services
Volvo Aero
Renault Trucks
Mack Trucks
UD Trucks

310bhp in a 17/18 tonne four wheeler isnt slow! Ive seen eight wheel FL7 insulated Tarmac tippers with 280bhp engines in them!

Many six wheelers dont have 300bhp, with 280 being the norm. I know someone who bought a new 18 tonne CF insulated tipper specced with a 340bhp engine and it flew...
Back in 1984 I had a new Cargo with the highest and longest box you could get and a over can night bunk.

It had 150 BHP !!! Nowadays it's another world, I practically had to pedal the fker up some hills.
