Oddball ASDA trailers
Discussion
I've seen these running around and the trailers have an odd wheel spacing
Could some explain why the wheels are spaced like this

I've seen similar trailers, with an extra amount of length on the back for 4 extra pallets. They leave the front two axles in the same place as the conventional 3 axle trailer, but move the furthest back axle back a metre or so to counter the extra weight.

I was going to suggest that but it doesn't look like there is any arch clearance for that to happen. When these longer trailers where first discussed the Daily Mail ran a story something like KILLER JUGGERNAUTS TO CAUSE DEATHS OF KIDS AND PUPPYS so they carry no additional signage

Stobart run a couple of different configurations. The first pic are the ones I've seen about. Not seen any of the others.

are these not the new trailers on trial???
certain hauliers pulling them as an experiment to see if the extra legth can work on uk roads?
i think they'll be fine on trunking routes.
obviously, "we" as the drivers will get paid extra, for the extra responsibility required when pulling these new trailers![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)

Should I get paid more if I specify a Mondeo Estate as a company car, rather than a Focus hatch? - I mean, it's longer, heavier and therefore carries extra responsibilities...

I doubt it is a similar sized proportional increase in responsibilty.Should I get paid more if I specify a Mondeo Estate as a company car, rather than a Focus hatch? - I mean, it's longer, heavier and therefore carries extra responsibilities...
