London delivery, route/timing advice

I have a London delivery on Tuesday, to the Barbican centre on silk street and I'm looking for a bit of local knowledge please to make it as painless as possible.
The drop is pretty flexible and will only require about 2 hours on site anywhere between 08:00-16:00, so starting from Glasgow on Monday and being free to book a hotel anywhere I like for Monday night, (Me,2 fitters and a company bar tab? what could possibly go wrong?) would my best bet be to get down to around Watford for about 18:00 (fitters wont work late) and be out the door on Tuesday for 06:00 to get avoid some of the rush?
Any route, timings or digs suggestions would be appreciated.
