Oooh, the Loire is a beautiful area, many summers in the Caravan as a kid there.
Sounds like you guys are going to have some great EU adventures this summer, I'm gutted I'm having to work it all. Next summer the mission is to get the caravan down to Agay for 3 weeks, will be lovely. I like that area a lot!
Went camping to Agay years ago (pre kids) and had the most fantastic 2 weeks.Sounds like you guys are going to have some great EU adventures this summer, I'm gutted I'm having to work it all. We flew Easyjet into Nice (with camping gear :-) ), rented a car and drove along the coast. No specific plans and came across Agay and decided this was the place we'd stay.
The site next to the sea was full so went inland a few 100 metres and found a really nice site.
Always planned on going back some day, very jealous :-)
We will be in France at the same time , travelling on/in Eurotunnel on Bastille Day ( Tesco vouchers paid for that ) to La Roc Gageac right by the Dordogne
Spent all this weekend cleaning and polishing to get the caravan looking like new , having done that , we are fed up with the state of the front of the caravan after a long Autoroute journey ,dead flies mud spatters and the rest so have ordered a “bra “ to protect the front .

Hopefully that will do the trick , any other users ? glitches , problems ?
We did Agay a few years ago staying in a Castell site in Frejus , very cramped , overlapping pitches, noisy
Not to be repeated

It's excellent and really does the job, but as mentioned you must give the front a really good wash before you put it on.
I also wash the front off when packing up before we travel home.
It was a god send when we went to Longleat last October, the front was pretty much completely brown!

What happens with the front market lights? I'm tempted (more so since finding out the cost of a front window), but am not quite ready to hit the go button yet...
I think you're supposed to cut them out yourself (or buy the more expensive tailored model specific covers). I'll be honest, I haven't bothered with mine! The cover we had was a factory second (had a 1" tear in the fabric which was patched and stitched in the factory - you can't even see it) and we only paid £50 for it! I suppose if I was paying full whack for one I'd get one with the light panels already done.
Just treated the old girl to a new jockey wheel! The original one was a bit tired, and the guy who serviced it the other week recommended I change it.
Whilst at it, I bought the Al-ko manoeuvring handle, not sure if it will be any good but for £7.50 worth a go.
The old jockey wheel was showing a bit of flaring at the bottom of the upper sleeve, which wasn't helping when trying to manoeuvre the van.
Half an hour, start to finish. Looks nicer as well

By the way, anyone Sussex or Kent looking for a mobile caravan technician?
I can thoroughly recommend Richard from Complete Caravan Care - top notch service and a really nice guy.

If its anything like the Isle of Wight ferries afe at the moment then yes you will be right in the thick of it.
I live on the Island and can normally get on and off at any time easily as they know my vehicles but today coming back Red Funnel Southampton to East Cowes had to wait until my allocated time.
Back across again Thursday so not really looking forward to the summer traffic.
Still enjoy your trip, hope everything goes to plan for you.
