Truma gas fire- how soon should gas stop after pilot out

Recently bought a Motorhome with Truma 3002 with auto igniter. The fire ignites fine, but igniter now keeps clicking.

I fitted an external switch so that I can switch off igniter once fire is lit to prevent repeated clicking.

I just thought I would check what would happen if the pilot light went out (Thermocouple should stop gas flow).

I turned the fire on, lit it, then quickly off then back on again at the dial without depressing it. First time gas flowed for about 3 seconds which resulted in a 'Poof' when lit again.

I tried again after running the fire for for about a minute. After approximately 5 seconds of turning fire off and on again gas was still flowing. I turned it off for further internet research and after an hour I have given up.

So Question Is:
How long after the pilot light goes out should gas flow for before the thermocouple shuts it off?

I am going to fit a new new igniter and get it serviced ASAP. Curious more than anything as to whether I have another problem.

Thanks, I am guessing it is fine for me and mates to go skiing, but don't want to toast my mrs + child + additional child due in Jan.

Talking of which need to pick the collective PH brain about skiing trip.....
