Jack Reacher - any good?

Yes, the majority of Reacher books were fine, difficult to keep up the standard I suppose.
I suppose it is pressure from publishers which drives them to produce such books.Amazing really that he managed so long with such short gaps.
I've never read a Forsyth or Grisham novel I could put down.
Notably longer timeframes between books.
It was only the fact I was on a nightshift with nothing else to read which made me finish the last offering.

I would add Harlan Coben and his Myron Bolitar books to this list as well.
Just ordered Deal Breaker, I'll report back once I've read it That means I need help, I loved the earlier Reacher books, I have also really enjoyed the MB books, the Joe Pickett series has got very samey lately so I need a new series.
Monkeylegend, you've always been good at coming up with suggestions, so feel free to make some again, or anyone else for that matter, please.
The winter's are long and cold when the Ring's shut over here.

I bought his latest one "Win" three months ago, it sits on the shelf along with the last to read Michael Connelly, maturing like a fine whiskey
Connelly has a new one out but I have only seen it in hardback so will wait until after Christmas when I am sure the charity shops will be inundated with unwanted or read Christmas gifts.
Probably mentioned these before but not in any particular order,
John Grisham
Linwood Barclay, similar to Harlen Coben in style.
Michael Connelly
Jefferson Parker
C J Box
Robert Crais.
David Baldacci
They should see you through 2022
Edited to say ignore C J Box

Oh and I've read all of the Robert Crais - Joe Pike stuff.
Is there a good place to start with a series from any of the authors you mention above?

John Grisham tend to be mainly stand alone novels so even those with the same characters can be read out of order, except maybe Camino Island and Camino Winds, they are better read in sequence. I think Island came first from memory.Oh and I've read all of the Robert Crais - Joe Pike stuff.

With the rest the Michael Connelly, Bosch then Bosch/Ballard books, carry a tenuous story line through them, but having said that I would still read them out of order if you are missing a few.
I also find reading a book from different authors in turn keeps the interest going.
The other authors I am just getting into are Chris Carter and Paul Finch if you like the slightly macabre.
Simon Kernick is also worth a look.

On a slightly different track, there’s a new series of Reacher coming to Amazon Prime soon. The actor is a huge bloke, just like Reacher, and I’m hoping for good things.
That'll make a change, after the infamously NOT 6'5" Tom Cruise! Nimby said:

That'll make a change, after the infamously NOT 6'5" Tom Cruise! I am currently reading through the Reacher short stories. They are very good, classic Reacher packed into a chapter or two. No delay before a baddy gets his arms broken, Reacher solves the case and gives the girl a one night stand. Predictable, enjoyable easy reading. If you want deep and meaningful there are plenty of other authors.
