Film looks pretty awesome. Has anybody read the books?

I getting conflicted answers on how many there actually are in the series...4 or 7!

I've read a couple. Lost interest after that (hence couldn't tell you how many there are in the series). Ok if you're 12 years old.

Have to agree with the above, started reading the first but it definitely seems to be aimed at a younger audience. Shame as it seems to be quite an interesting premise, especially for fans of steampunk but the characterisation and descriptions are a bit too toned down for my liking.

I've read a couple - the first is quite readable (though fairly straightforward as described by others) but didn't rush to read any more. I'm looking forward to seeing film though, as you say the trailer looks good.

Love post apocalypse and sci-fi in general

However seems like a stupid idea, I'd be surprised if it isn't a flop, hope it isn't mind you

Wiki says there are 4 books, and a 3 book prequel trilogy(of course its a trilogy, its 3 books smile...unless you are Douglas Adams!)
Saw the film last night, looks pretty but a so-so story. Not too bad overall
