A couple of years ago a new guy came into the office. About two months later the girl sitting next to him started talking about her time in Dubai more than ten years earlier.

The guy had been in Dubai as a young teenager, and they got talking about it. Of course (given this thread), they had been there at the same time. But suddenly he went very quiet and embarrassed. He asked her couple of specific questions that confirmed that they had met briefly at a party, then calmly but proudly announced...

"You gave me my first blowjob, on top of tat building, after the party"

They had sat next to each other for a couple of months without either recognising or suspecting. I guess they had never actually looked at each other's face.

Went up to Scotland on the train for New Year back in 1990.

Sat opposite a girl and got chatting. Told her I'd just graduated.

"Which university?" she asked.

"Oxford" I replied.

"Thats a coincidence, my brother went there, he was at St Catherine's College."

"I went to Catz too" I replied.

"Small world" she said "He used to live down in St Clements".

"Really, so did I..." said I.

"Yes, he lived on Boulter Street" she replied.

"Bloody Hell" says I "I lived in No 58".

"No kidding, so did he........"

Turned out that we had both rented the same room in the same house in the same street and gone to the same college at the same university......

A few years ago my wife was looking in the local rag when she spotted an ad for a timeshare week in Tenerife.

She rang the lady up, who lived about 10 miles away from us in another town.

(Bit of a sad story, she couldn't go as her son had been killed rock climbing in Hong Kong or somewhere and they had to go and get him.)

Anyway, my wife did the business, (er, not literally boys!)and as she was as so nice, she could have the second week free to save the woman the hassle at a bad time.

Anyway, when we arrived, my son happened to phone his mate, who lived 25 miles away from us.

His parents used to own the exact same apartment.

We had no idea his pal had ever been to Tenerife, and we had never been before or had any interest in going before. It was just a flike that we even considered going at all.

What a coincidence.

How do you know?

It might have been 'cos you offered him one of yours, just so you could brag about coincedences on a sad forum.

Coincidences like these mentioned are not as rare as most people assume- we are all familair with the "six degrees of seperation" theory, and others can eaily be explained.

It does annoy me, however if an example where science cannot explain the reason (again, more common then wre'd like to admit...) peopls assume its "paranormal activity". But for possibly the biggest coincidence, think of this:

The Sun is huge. Really, really big. The moon is small. Really, really small. The sun would easily engulf the moon without showing HOWEVER the distance between the earth-sun and earth-moon is so exact that they both appear the same size to us- hence we get perfect eclipse's, with a beautiful corona. If the sun was larger, of closer it would appear larger, ditto the moon. But the coincidence is they appear the same size.

An ex of mine mentioned her parents were from the same part of Ireland as my uncle, so we started comparing family trees. Turned out we were 6th cousins, twice removed.

Excuse me, I think that's Jerry Springer on the phone...

5 years ago, I went to Tunisia on holiday. Last minute thing, not particularly keen on hotel/area, etc, so mate & I decided to travel round the country for a few days. Went to Tatouine (obviously), saw a billboard advertising 5 day trips into the Sahara in Land Cruisers - seemed like a good idea, so went. By day 3, the various groups of mates on the trip (5 Toyotas' worth) were mixing a little more, and, sitting in a bedouin tent in mid-sahara I got talking to a chap & his GF from London. Turned out we had the same birthday, born 2 minutes apart in a four-bed maternity unit in rural Staffordshire. Our mothers knew each other. We didn't talk much after that, as we were a little freaked out.
