I buy everything on a whim - it's terrifying. Latest impulse acquisition is a Mk1 E-Type 3.8 roadster. I saw it for sale last week and decided that it would be fun.

It is.

Brilliant!
My dad looked after one for a while. Fantastic sound and great look.

Id love one.

It's really, really cool. As it's such a beautiful day today, I drove it to work. You're right about the noise, too. Fabulous. Also a treat to drive in London - no-one gives you any aggression or road rage; they simply grin and give you a big thumbs up!

I think other toys will be neglected for a while. It's a pig around corners, but no other car has made me grin quite so much when simply trickling along in traffic.

Phoned up Safety Devices to order a 6 point bolt in roll cage, hung up the phone having ordered a multipoint roll cage, plumbed in fire extinguisher and a load of roll cage padding, and realising I'd just spent 7 weeks pay

Did you reject her as not fit for purpose

Or was it more like after 6-7 minutes you realised you did not need her

Yep - the XK8!

Love the car but was looking for a 993 or Ferrari.

The guy inspecting a 993 said that the Jag was a better buy - and it is beautiful and drives great, but I really wanted something else and shouldn't have bought on impulse.

The wife says it's great and has given up on me!

Bought my house on a whim too, lack of impulsiveness is not one of my virtues

Yep, was well on my way to buying an Esprit, but the bank backed out. So, then I bought a basket-case Europa before I really even knew anything about them. That led to the Cosworth BD, cause it was a good deal, which then lead to the new tranny which I just happened upon.

Just about everything I buy is cause of a whim, good fun.

I bought a foot high patterned porcelain rabbit...for no other reason that it was giving me a certain look that said ' buy me'
Was about £100 15 years ago...I neglected it for a bit...and it decided to leap off the bookcase upstairs ...and ended up downstairs with a hole on one side.
Am assuming my foot long stick insect spirit had something to do with it.

WTF?!

You obviously missed the thread about seeing beings from other dimensions
Some time ago I saw a translucent foot long (similar to stick insect...but had more legs)...hovering just below my bedroom light switch.

Jeezus Please can I have some of whatever you're taking ???
Would that have been a patterned porcelain rabbit of this persuasion ?

In which case please could you send that apparition round to my mother's house, she's got dozens of the ruddy things

I see. Had you had any emotional experiences before hand? Were you on medication at all? ...

It was 5am in the morning....apart from having had a lot to drink before I went to bed...as is my want
Wouldn't have dreamt such a creature...but it was there...and I tend to think, it's only when your mind is in a very relaxed state that you see the beings in another dimenion

Because that's what it was....with a few more legs than the normal ones.

I wouldn't have dreamt that apparittion...but it was there...translucent with a few black bits in it.
So...I just assumed it was a being from another dimension...and let it be.

Bigger than that...he's standing on his hind legs...and has a pink/ green flowery print...(the pink bits being flowers and the green bits leaves)...but in a sort of impressionist type way.

Yes Mungo was exactly like that.

And you wouldn't have freaked out if it happenned to you....you just accept it as being one of those things.
It's not normal...but it's not doing anything to bother you over much...so just let it be.

How do you know (given that it's a being from another dimension, so anything's possible) that it's not going to leap from its ethereal perch and rip your face off ?

ps: sleep tight
