Yes, it was a tough little car - P524GGM, Fiat Punto 75SX. Bought from my mum at 30,000 miles, part ex'd vs a Fiat Coupe at 92,000. Survived a near write-off when a dozy driver pulled out of a side street in front of me as well as 3 years of London driving and 3 trips to Italy and back.

Yes, it was an unexciting Peugeot 405 1.9TD GLX Diesel estate, manual with a clutch like an old bus, but I loved the old shed. I bought it before I passed my test, and used it to practice in. Completely reliable, really economical and took me all over England, Scotland and Wales with no complaints and helped me move house. Great first car, probably would be a shock compared to the Merc I drive now though. In the condition that it left me I probably would, but by now it will be no more than a small heap of iron oxide dust in the corner of a scrap depot. The thing is though - I equally know that to drive it again could crush the nostalgia as it can only ever be miles worse than I remember it and that is even acknowledging the legendary levels of understeer available in a C plated Vauxhall Astra (1300 - not GL, not L, not anything - the absolute base model).

Drove very well, had great seats, good on fuel, and very unreliable.
By the time I traded it in it needed a new clutch and the valve seals / piston rings were gone. During my year of ownership it needed 2 bearings, 2 springs, all the brake pipes done, a new calliper, and a new wishbone.
Still, I would have it back in a heartbeat, albeit a working one
