Sounds unlikely to me.........I don't live in Birmingham but I can't remember the last time I saw a 3-dr Cossie on the road. In fact, I've seen more Murcielagos than Sierra Cossies in the last year.
(One, on the A303).
They'd be a bit stupid to use such a conspicuous car for a robbery don't you think?
But commiserations to ya buddy.

I really hope this bloke gets his car back and that the thieves get their just deserts - but why the hell are ordinary people like the guys on here having to do all the leg work!?!?
Why did the police proportion of my council tax go up by 26% last year if they expect us to run around looking for a vehicle that has been violently taken away from its rightful owner? Why are we expected to drop leaflets into petrol stationso n the off-chance they fill up?
I'd love to know what the police have done on this case since it occurred...

Its probably worth Scouring all known places where Cossie parts could be advertised including ebay CHANCES are they could of organised this and been watching you for a while and waited for their chance they might just be after the engine and will break the car.
I dont wish to downheart you by the above but you need to cover every possibility.
There's also a chance its gone to ground already and in a lock up not too far away and it could be they know of you thru others.
Ask questions of who youve come into contact recently and might of shown an interest.
Also print leaflets of pictures of the car and the highlighted registration number and go to all Taxi companies in the city aswell as roadside burger bars with perhaps a reward.
Good Luck.

I can assure you it isnt! I myself am waiting to hear the exact details of how the car was returned, but it would seem that there was more to it than a simple car jacking and recovery. Although I think he would prefer to keep the matter between his close friends, of which I am not one! So I will remain as intrigued as you guys!
Anyway, if the message reads as an advertisement I am 100% behind the moderators editing the contact details out of the original message or deleting the thread altogether, as I guess the matter is now closed really?!

would be interested to know the full details.
From reading the thread it sounds like a blatant advertisement to me but happy to be proved wrong.
Im with you on that one A pre Requisit of insuring a Cossie with most insurance companies is a tracker. Also if i was going to nick a high profile car of that kind i would not keep it in the local area... Not that i have nicked any cars that is... But youwould want it out of site and in some place obscure...
Also from the people i know in BHam Thay would have tourched the car after they finished with it

One of our cabs a 2003 Skoda TD estate got hijacked last summer ,later that night it was found blazing,(11-12K up in smoke),in my experience a few get broken for the parts but most get torched and the first few hours are vital if your gonna get your pride and joy back thats probably where a Tracker would help.
