If it all goes up in smoke, or a pile of bits for DR, in full public view, even before the new season starts that would be a massive phycological for him and his side of the garage.

Doesn't matter. Can all be written off as "we are investing in DR and the car is new to him" - WDC and WCC is sewn up - there is much less to lose now than at race 1. Whilst I must confess that Abu Dhabi isn't the most exciting race of the year, comments like this do annoy me.If you can't see past who wins a race, can't see the closeness of 2nd and lower, can't see how close the WCC is at the moment between 2nd and 3rd, then yes, what's the point! Here is a Noval idea, don't bloody watch it. No one is forcing you too. Go and enjoy your weekend doing something that won't bore you. Life is too short to spend a weekend watching something you don't enjoy or understand.
I on the other hand can't wait for the next race. If VET wins, great! If somehow Massa wins, excellent! I am excited by the sport, no matter who is out front!

With you all the way. 1st Q asked by fellow spectators at a GP is usually "who do you support", many seem somewhat perplexed when you tell them "I support good racing".
Like most, I would hazard, I would have prefered a closer season that ran to the wire, but SV/Red Bull couldn't be matched, no reason to come over all churlish.
I thought he did himself a big favour with his 2 interviews with Lee & his donuts. . . . hopefully this may help the "booers" to behave a bit less like soccer thugs, & more like Motor Racing fans.
As you say plenty of interest in the last few races for those not so blinkered that they cannot see beyond the top step of the podium.

What would be nice is for Pirrelli to give them a long lasting tyre, teams to turn up the horse power, and let's see some racing based on talent. Let the teams and drivers off the lead.
