Is there an advantage to driving on the latter days as the car will be in better shape?

Not just that the car's in better shape, but also they'll be doing fewer constant speed aero runs / systems tests and more medium and fast running... Increased bork potential too, particularly the risk of your team mate having binned it.

I thought I read somewhere that Williams livery was due out on March 6th, however might have imagined it!

What have Marussia been upto? They dont seem to have done many miles in testing. Do we know why? Sure I read somewhere there was doubt their car would be finished in time for Australia.

Apparantly their computers were hit by a computer virus.... Bit amatuerish for that to happen.

Cars are up and running. Still no nosecone camera pods on the Red Bull, I know it's still testing but I thought these were mandatory on the 2014 cars. Mercedes have had them mounted on the rappit ears through all the testing, the other cars have had them on the side of the nose, they must affect the aero so you would think they would fit something...

I'm sure aero is the last thing on RB's mind at the mo. Getting a car that can do long consistent runs and is reliable will be first on the agenda.

Red Bull are still having cooling problems. Ricciardo did 32 laps this morning, and the car has been on jacks in the garage since.
Lotus are also done for the day after 31 laps, making changes for tomorrow.

McLaren and Williams have both done over 100 laps.

13:01 @DrunkMercenary asks: Which car looks like being the most stable and the drivers look at ease driving it? #autosport

AUTOSPORT said:
EDD STRAW: "Has to be the Mercedes. Whichever driver is at the wheel, it looks the most convincing as a fully realised racing car. But we have to add the caveat that it is very early days yet. It might just be that Mercedes is the furthest advanced with its programme and therefore the car is the best sorted of all for now."

I noticed just after I typed that, the comment disappeared from live coverage feed then reappeared saying Mercedes!

Seems like Redbull are still having some pretty significant, but fundamental, problems with cooling.

I'll predict 2 DNF's for the Redbull for OZ (or they will run way down on power and not score points unless too many other cars break down).

i was thinking it would be sorted by now but it appears that every time Red bull try to 100% wink it the car threatens to detonate itself.

not looking good for all of the Renault powered cars, that's the one conclusion you can now make this close to FP1, even if they fix the issues it will be done between now and oz, so they wont have any track time.

Apart from that nothing else can be concluded from all that I've read.

The chances of Red Bull or any of the other Renault teams getting their cars in any sort of shape before Melbourne now looks remote. Apparently the RB10 is still overheating every time the driver tries to push.

RBR look set for a humiliating number of DNFs in the first four flyaway races, while they try frantically to develop something resembling a competitive 'B spec' car for Barcelona.
