The Pre-qually is something that we could do with nowadays. If you count RB and TR as one team, Merc and it's little me that moves out of the way at the slightest smell of big brother behind, and Ferrari's two, then we are suffering more than a little at the moment.
F1 has always normally been races within races: those at the front, the mid field and those at the back. I would appreciate more independent teams in the sport.
I agree that we don't have enough teams, but I don't want to see a return to prequalifying, it's a staggering waste. I'd like to see 26-28 cars on the grid (independents or partial B teams like FI), and I'd like to see an extra free practice where teams can run another car, a PU that is not in their race allocation and must run reserve/guest drivers. Or even a sprint race on Saturday after qualifying for those reserve drivers.F1 has always normally been races within races: those at the front, the mid field and those at the back. I know this comment is not as insightful as I might've hoped given that the timesheets are telling the story, but who else thinks this is a Mercedes circuit? Long, fast corners for a long, fast car, also reduced tread depth Pirellis this weekend as per Cataluña.
Also aren't they being very coy about their new spec engine, yes I heard that they had a QC issue with it before but this weekend they aren't revealing whether it will be rolled out but aren't saying why it wouldn't be...
Monster engine upgrade worth a couple of tenths or more?

Lots of comments on social media on the traffic chaos at the track. Folk realising they've no chance of getting to the track so turning round and heading home.
This has been known about since the French GP was announced. So did they just give a gallic shrug and do it anyway?
