Would be a nice gesture I think, particularly for the British teams

Yes would be dignified, maybe Aston to run with no sponsors as they hold a Royal Seal iirc?

But the following would be a bit ridiculous imo

"It remains to be seen whether the Italian Grand Prix will be cancelled or postponed with Italy being a member of the Commonwealth along with several teams based in the UK."

I'm sure the Ferrari board will be present this weekend for a corporate jolly too. No pressure Binotto..

The sub-editor was obviously too busy rushing out everything they had prepared. It still says that Italy is in the Commonwealth this morning!

While sporting events in the UK are being cancelled, it’s very unlikely that this would be the case in Italy, even as many of the teams are mourning the loss of Her Majesty.

Wouldn't really want them to cancel either. It was a big day but I don't see what cancelling would do. It's hardly disrespectful especially if she is recognised too. I think they are doing a silence this weekend but can't remember at what point.

Which makes it slightly less likely to be true than if you used a random character generator to assemble a sentence. smile

The quality of journalism today... Yet people still believe what they print!

I don't want to be a downer but the one-man max show is losing my interest. Shades of the early noughties for me. People complained about the Merc domination but was it ever as certain?

Merc, Red Bull, Ferrari with the 'dream team'. It has always been the case.

Domination is just part of F1, always has been, and (probably) always will be. I would not say it is as bad as the early 2000s. At least we have some good racing at the front at the start of this season.

People forget easily. There was a title challenge from Nico between 2014-2016 (obviously winning one of those), then Vettel challenged well in 2017-2018 until 2/3s through those seasons. But 2019-2020 was just Hamilton romping to titles without too much bother.
At least there was some challenge and Nico was allowed to race. Perez was nerffed the second he looked like he might pose a challenge to Max.

And he's still not allowed the same level of equipment just to make sure he knows his place.

Perez is nowhere near as good as Verstappen so his equipment is utterly irrelevant
