I hope its true. If I could be arsed there'd be a lot of PHers I'd be quoting right now.
Should have put money on it.

Been saying he'll end his career at Ferrari for years and always been laughed at by the usual prolific F1 posters on here.
I certainly never thought it would happen. But here we are. "In F1 anything can happen, and usually does."Edited by SpudLink on Thursday 1st February 10:46
BBC reporting he could make the move, not that its a done deal.

I'd like to see it, whether it would happen and be a good move for Lewis are still to be seen.

Including a major motor manufacturer being denied entry because ‘you would be competitive enough not improve our image’ [unlike a credit card team and a shoestring tool manufacturer team].PlywoodPascal said:
I trust that Sky report less than those from Jonathan Noble and Adam Cooper, especially since all they have is a headline, and no attribution.
However I think this is v likely to be happening.
It’s the permanent headline on Sky sports news tv channel… Sky aren’t doing that unless they are 100%. However I think this is v likely to be happening.
If it’s got to the point of there being a contract ready to sign, it’s definitely serious. The question is what is the goal in going to that point?
It’s like any job where you say you’ve an offer elsewhere, even if you’re doing it for leverage (but leverage for what? What does he want from Mercedes that more ‘force’ like this would gain him?), you’ve got to prepared to leave once you say you might.

And it’s easy to see how a headline writer in a news service caught behind (auto sport broke this) could go from ‘contract ready to sign’ to ‘signs for’.On the other hand in the Adam Cooper tweet I mentioned earlier, ‘moving fast’ is code for ‘signed now’ imo.
I didn’t say sky were wrong, I said I trust them less, they’re less well connected in f1 than proper f1 journalists and they are tabloid.
Would love to see it. Great viewing to see if him or Leclerc have the upper hand.
But on the other hand I think he's crazy for not at least seeing how good or bad the Merc is in the 1st race before deciding.
OR is this a tacit admission that internally Merc already know they've missed targets for the 3rd year running?
