Merc are confirmed till 2025.

The new team (French management) will be supplied by Renault.

(I’m sure we called the move back in June/July, I’ll have to have a look at the early pages).

We’ve got McMerc back!
New French team?

Apart from Renault, who signed up later than everyone else when they bought back their old team, all the teams are signed up only until the end of 2020. Mercedes and Renault have committed to supplying engines beyond that.

Mark Hughes' column today highlighted new rumours that Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull are once again considering a breakaway series, over their displeasure at the direction the 2021 rules are taking. This is most likely just part of their negotiating strategy with LM over the post-2020 concord agreements.

Just posturing to try and keep some of their financial advantage over the other teams. They’ll get a couple of concessions and be happy enough with it. Any breakaway series on the able to use Formula 1 or F1 or Grand Prix.

I did think that when I heard them talking about it on Sky.. but now I've seen the spelling - different spelling, different meaning - shouldn't really be a problem.

Bit odd though, kind of like a new team deciding to call itself Fur-ari. Although if Team China F1 get off the ground who knows what might happen hehe

10 podiums vs. None is why he will outlast Mr. Bang Average in F1.
Do you rate Grosjean as a better driver than Hulkenberg?
I think Groesjean is faster, Hulkenberg more reliable

It looks like teams rate faster, but a little careless over steady and reliable. Especially if fast and careless also has a talent for car development.
I agree with that. To me it looks more common for a driver to get more reliable with experience than to get faster. Grosjean seems an exception there.

Don't know about Grosjean being quicker than Hulk, I can't tell. He looked quick to me in the Lotus when he wasn't crashing it.

Had to laugh at the Autosport report where Gros was asking for 'more gentlemanly' drivers who understood races were not won on the first lap and there was no need to be so aggressive.

I like him, but wow, just wow!

Wasn’t it grosjean who complained in the drivers briefing about Hamilton undoing his belts to wave on the victory lap? Ham’s quip being something like ‘it’s not something you’ll ever need to worry about’

In the unlikely event that Grojean was ever doing a "victory lap" he would still be advised to keep his belts tight as based on previous experience, there is a risk he could still crash hehe

hehe Oh tell me that's on YT somewhere!

Dammit, he didn't, just had a very slight dig at Vettel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPr5khO86Eg

Not sure it went down quite like that and Grosjean was just being a dick because Hamilton was niggling at Vettel having removed his steering wheel. Amusing dynamics anyway.

Poor Grosjean never actually got his question answered anyway biggrin

Basically, it's OK for Lewis to do it to wave at fans which is good for the sport, and he's only driving slowly. But also, everyone else mustn't do it even if they're driving slowly because Seb has just proved it's still possible to have an accident. Very clear smile
