Dan Ticktum Can't Test - Boohoo or suck it up sunshine?
Discussion
It’s a shame, the team radio and the black and white flag for it today, what he said you don’t want to hear, however when they are driving there’s a lot of emotion and a lot adrenaline flowing, I’m sure Seb said something similar about a situation in a press conference a few years back, these guys have a microphone constantly recording..
No excuses for what he’s said mind, I’m only glad he did not repeat previous actions.
He has driven very well this year in a car that is certainly not the best, scoring 57 out of teams 60 points, and scored a P1.

“Next time that ***** tries a kamikaze move like that I’m going to crash with him I will tell you that.
I’m never going to give him that much respect ever again.”
Lots of drivers who give space and regret is for losing position will state that they will mot do so again. Think Leclerc/Verstappen in Austria 2019.
But Ticktum comes with a suitcase full of baggage and lots of expletive rants are not broadcast.
I am minded to believe he did not mean he would seek out another driver to crash with, and was drawing a line in the sand that if another driver pulls a move they will be arriving at the scene of an accident.
His choice of language and the history mean, understandably, people including the commentator will believe Ticktum is making threats.
As others have said, he would benefit from a sports psychologist.
In a way I feel sorry for him but his talent doesn't excuse his behaviour and I cannot see him ever progressing to F1. Indeed what other top flight series would want him? Maybe a career in IRL beckons given the driving standards exhibited by others in that series.

In a world where Hulk and Perez look like they won’t have a seat next year and there are other strong options in F2 (some commercially advantageous no doubt) then I can’t see anyone being mad enough to take a punt on him. Williams are clearly so desperate they are willing to try anything.
From what I’ve seen he’s not even the second best British driver in F2.

Nope, Ilott is far and away miles better/faster and Aitken is very experienced, F2 race-winner and very much more marketable. From what I’ve seen he’s not even the second best British driver in F2.

Petulant ahole yesterday wasn’t he?
And he wants to race in F1?
Err no. A disaster waiting too happen.
He's never going to race in F1. Williams only have him on board for financial reasons - he's not any closer to getting in to F1 as a result of that position. Thankfully. And he wants to race in F1?

Quite - Williams would actually take Aitken (who's moved from Renault's academy to William's over the off-season) over Ticktum every day of the weekGassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
