Yep, studio in London with Karun operating a bigger skypad from there. Martin, Ted, Crofty and Rachel on the ground in Albert Park. Not sure if there is another former driver yet to join the Sky team this weekend.
Crowds look massive in the warmish sunshine for an FP1 session.
A couple of exciting spins in the second half of the initial session - good saves from Russell and Botas at turn 10, Albon not so lucky at turn 6.
Top 10 within half a second - looks promising for a close race at this stage.

That was an awfullly close session, it’s only practice 1 but a tenth covered the top six cars!

Crowd almost Silverstone-esque for a Friday, great to see.

And may not have a car for the rest of the weekend if the rumour that there is no spare tub is true…

That’s really not good!

F1TV said that the production processes at Williams were so bad that they were running the whole thing on spreadsheets!

Only having two tubs built by the third race isn’t good, it’s not as if you can do carbon fibre repairs in a few hours at the track. I do wonder if the car is going to be withdrawn, or if the team are looking for someone in Melbourne who might be able to fix it overnight to the FIA’s standards?

MV helmetcam is brilliant.

F1 spent millions developing this technology over several years with the lid manufacturers, money well spent.

Race pace looking very good for the red cars. Let’s hope they can take it to the Red Bull and make a good race of it.

Not convinced the race will be close, people keep forgetting that the cars are closest in quali, once the race starts the different designs mean the cars are affected by tyre wear at different rates meaning a more spaced out grid pretty quickly.

Leclerc looks to be most comfortable - Max, and the rest, not quite there yet.

He's not exactly covering himself in glory unless Tsunoda has completely reinvented himself

Much more likely that Ricciardo is simply doing what he has done for the past few years rather than Tsunoda suddenly getting very good.....

I totally understand why they've done it but the green screen studio back in the UK is bloody awful.

Missed this thread entirely.

Went for a Ferrari second place with LeClerc. Wasn't sure about the Sainz situation and feel like this is the kind of place Perez will bin it or qualify 8th and not move up.

Albon has been given Sargeants car for the rest of the weekend. If they have that little faith in Sargesbt why keep him on for this season?
