Jamie Chadwick - First competitive female driver in F1?

I think women are fully aware that there is a thing called motorsport, sadly the vast vast majority of them are not in the slightest interested in taking part in it.
This is thing that gets me with this 'debate'. Fact is, motorsport just doesn't interest women as much as men. Perhaps knitting or cooking (to use well worn tropes) are more interesting to men? Why does this need to be 'corrected', maybe it's just how it is? And as someone mentioned earlier, statistically if there's less entrants it makes sense there's no female F1 drivers yet. How many blokes who want to do it make it... 0.1%? 0.1% of women who give racing a go seems a very small number. trackdemon said:

The Rodin application was never going to be accepted even without the delusional commitment of reserving a seat for fictional female drivers that they were never going to be able to fulfill. There is not a single female driver with a superlicence nor is there one that will get one in the upcoming years. Chadwick has 26 superlicence points, most of which are due to expire before 2026, so she would not quality for a full superlicence without success in F3 or F2 which is nigh on impossible. She lucked in to easy 15 points in W Series just for being a woman.
The economics of a F1 team based outside of Europe in New Zealand was never going to work. Even Haas whose base is in the US have European operations despite outsourcing as much as they can to third party companies. Dallara builds the car for them, they get as much as they can legally (and probably more than legally) from Ferrari. Their decision to do this has resulted in them being the worst team on the grid so what chance does Rodin have.
The whole thing was nothing more than a marketing opportunity to sell the Rodin race cars.

Tend to agree. That Rodin bid was adventurous at best. We've seen far more "legitimate" bids to get into F1 fail so not sure this was ever on the cards.
Guess there is always Andretti Cadillac.
Andretti Cadillac is a bona fide legitimate entry, one of the largest racing organisations in the world, backed by the largest OEM motor manufacturer. The only reason for not allowing them in, is that the existing teams don’t want to see the prize money diluted. They’d be undoubtedly good for the sport. Guess there is always Andretti Cadillac.

Like you say, depends on the others, but it might help tap that US market so there has to be some consideration.

Is this the same Rodin with cars in F2? Surely if she was quick enough for F1 they would have her in an F2 car... no?The fool behind this is almost as dumb as the motherf

I know an engineer who has worked with Chadwick in various series, and hoping to catch up with him at Brands BTCC this weekend, so will see if he has any interesting insight.
In the past he has always credited her as being one of the brightest drivers he has worked with, and a valuable ‘team’ asset.

Carlin/Rodin after they bought into Trevor's long established business. They bought the failed Lotus Exeo project which they seem to have been trying to flog for years.
Now bought into Carlin racing so their name is on all kinds of race cars but as far as I know they have very little to do with any of it?
I can’t work out what they actually do other than buy stuff? Have missed something huge?

Carmen Jorda was a valuable 'team asset' depending on how you view things. Arguably any semi decently female driver is a valuable team asset at the moment. It doesn't mean that same driver has any chance of being on the grid in Bahrain ready to race any time soon.In the past he has always credited her as being one of the brightest drivers he has worked with, and a valuable ‘team’ asset.

I funded Liam Lawson more than Red Bull have and if somebody pays me I'll put Jamie in my car....quite the different stance there

Has anybody ever seen David and that Rich Energy guy in the same room? The media need to stop giving this guy and his company free advertising, it is pretty evident he hasn't got a clue. No wonder the FIA rejected Rodin's bid. What was Trevor thinking in entertaining this clown?
There is nothing stopping him putting her in a F3 or F2 car already, he is part owner of Rodin-Carlin after all. What is there to stop him wasting money on a F3 or F2 season in one of his cars? I mean he apparently already had the money to pay for an F1 team, a drive for Miss Chadwick will be far cheaper. Oh wait, deep down he knows she isn't remotely good enough but it is just coming out with wokely correct soundbites to get attention like Hamilton has been.

That's not going to give you a fair answer is it? Thats like asking a mother if they think their son is a handsome lad.In the past he has always credited her as being one of the brightest drivers he has worked with, and a valuable ‘team’ asset.
