Jamie Chadwick - First competitive female driver in F1?

It was on the Sky broadcast over the weekend. I took it to mean that she was closer than expected to the lap times of the official test driver - who won F2 and sits in the simulator every week - rather than she was faster than him.

In three seasons of Formula W Jessica's best result was fifth. I am not buying that she was close to the times of the current Formula two champion.I took it to mean that she was closer than expected to the lap times of the official test driver - who won F2 and sits in the simulator every week - rather than she was faster than him.
If she was even remotely close why isn't she racing in Formula three to get enough points for a super licence?
Jamie Chadwich who won every season of Formula W didn't even score as many points as Mazapin when they raced in Formula three together.

It's Rosberg trying to be smart.

Lol, fake news
Why hide the laptimes unless she was dogst slow? I don't buy it.
While I have no idea how close Hawkins' times were to Drugovich (or not as the case may be) you can't read anything into them not publishing the lap times - simply because times generally aren't published for these sorts of tests. No-one was screaming blue murder that Piastri's times in his runs for Alpine weren't plastered everywhere. Why hide the laptimes unless she was dogst slow? I don't buy it.

Piastri was F2 champion and has a well established record of winning at every level.None of the current women racers are remotely comparable to him.

Has anybody ever seen David and that Rich Energy guy in the same room? The media need to stop giving this guy and his company free advertising, it is pretty evident he hasn't got a clue. No wonder the FIA rejected Rodin's bid. What was Trevor thinking in entertaining this clown?
There is nothing stopping him putting her in a F3 or F2 car already, he is part owner of Rodin-Carlin after all. What is there to stop him wasting money on a F3 or F2 season in one of his cars? I mean he apparently already had the money to pay for an F1 team, a drive for Miss Chadwick will be far cheaper. Oh wait, deep down he knows she isn't remotely good enough but it is just coming out with wokely correct soundbites to get attention c'mere SHOEHORRRRRRNNNNN like Hamilton has been.

Just listening to the F1 podcast this week and the host said he spoke to Jess after the test and she had no problems driving the car and was as quick as the usual test driver. Didnt back it up with any evidence and may well have been generalising.
if Hawkins truly was as quick as the reigning F2 champion and AM test driver then surely there should be a queue to sign her up as a reserve driver at minimum.....Think that's the thing really. There are plenty of drivers who can do the job, or are quick enough over 5 laps on a closed circuit. F1 and most of the feeder/lower series are littered with 'fast on paper' F1 level, past or present, drivers.
Most are are looking for that next Seb/Max/Lewis/Fernando type driver or have experience/stability currently, a new drive doesn't give any of that, let alone bring sex into the question. Why introduce the unknown to the fray unless there is a need?

She said in an interview that she was close to the benchmark times but didn't beat them. But even if she had, the main hurdle for her to go any further in F1 is that she doesn't have a single Super Licence point, so she can't even do an FP1 session. She would need to be racing in F2 as a minimum to progress. As it is she is limited to these sort of private tests where they can make up their own narrative without giving away any hard facts about lap times. It's a helluva trackday for her though.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
