I've been out all day and managed not to see the result of qually. Just seen it.
It seems a silly thing to say, but Lewis impressed me by making a mistake into the first corner. 0.22 secs down, and then gets pole.
Good to see him looking so calm afterwards. Talking sense as well.
Excellent qually. DR is the man. The bloke is brilliant. Good to see the Ferrari doing well but shame about Raik.
Promises well for tomorrow.

Katherine Legge
Michela Cerruti
Paige Decker
Ayla Agren
Hmm, out of those Michela Cerruti looks a possible, currently 6th in AutoGP.Michela Cerruti
Paige Decker
Ayla Agren
Legge possibly but she doesn't have many strong results.
The others I think would need experience at a higher level, Agren for example has won 2 races in the equivalent of formula ford. Definitely names to watch though, I hope Decker doesn't suffer funding problems like Jo Long is, shes still not got a seat in Nationwide and totally deserves to be there imho.

Surely the real question is not if theres 8 female drivers with Superlicences (theyd get them if it was a benefit to bernie)
Its a case of how many of them would qualify within 107% rule?
Well, that would be a good test to see if the FIA have actually have tightened up the criteria? Its a case of how many of them would qualify within 107% rule?
On the subject of silly season, I think it could happen...
Alonso to McLaren
Vettel to Ferrari
Kvyat promoted to Red Bull race seat.
Jenson retained for one or two years but at reduced rates
Magnussen to whoever is in line for Honda engines in 2016
All wild guesses. But Red Bull are bring Verstappen to a race licence and experience ASAP. Kvyat looks like a solid driver. Honda have some serious money to through at contract termination fees.
Why not?

I think Ron would keep KMag over Button.
What about if Kimi throws in the towel ? Will Bianchi ever get to step up ?
So what if Vettel goes, Ricciardo gets an offer he can't refuse from McLaren, Button goes to RBR in a DC/Webber type move (i.e. experienced hand) and they pull Kvyat up to the A team, he in turn is replaced by Sainz Jr (looking like WSR winner this year) or even Alex Lynn (probable GP3 champ) ?

the fact that we are post-Monza and have uncertainty and unconfirmed seats would show that it is all to play for. Rumours are that Japan is where announcements will happen - which makes sense for any Honda backed drivers.

How are Honda/McLaren going to convince a top-3 driver to join their team? It can't be an easy sell, or putting it another way it's going to be expensive.
Same way Merc persuaded Hamilton. Money, flexibility and a vision. How did Ferrari convince MSC in 1995 to move for 1996 onwards?
