I looked at this today and £6.99 a day is not worth it. Maybe on a Super Sunday or special fight etc but for either the race or Quali they can bolt, robbing bds
£7 for 3 hours+ entertainment? Pretty comparable to a cheap cinema ticket?

£10.99 for a 7 day pass is even better value.

£30 odd for a month isn't bad either if there are several races and a couple of test matches on.

Wouldn't want that all year round though

I used Now! last season for a few races. I was considering it this weekend but I'm off out early on Sunday. It is value for money I think, especially as you can pick and choose.

I grumble and moan about it but still enjoy watching. I just don't always look to the front 2 for the racing. There is no "golden era" for me, I just enjoy each era for it's challenges and idiosyncrasies.

smile

The modern era is spoiled for information. I used to only have Ceefax pg 360 (?)

Hmm, 5 of those and a good chunk of the season is covered...

Do they work overseas, or do I need a VPN back to the UK?

Indeed, 360 was correct.

Screengrab was from http://pagesfromceefax.net/

I've been using a VPN service to watch Sky overseas on a large iPad. Works very well (not with BBC or BT Sports)

If you're based overseas it's probably cheaper to find a local provider.

All ready for the start of the season biggrin = bottle of cider, a microwave curry and a low res android feed (hey i'm not proud i'm just a poor F1 junkie), if it all goes toots up i'll watch it round the Ex's saterday night before i settle in for the race live (she has virgin media and still lets me go watch it bless her), no predictions from me till after the race bandit
So i guess i'll see you all sunday eve for a genial chat and a nice glass of merlot, or if it's the same old PH i'll see you all sunday for a slanging match and bottle of newkie brown drink

It's the first race of a new season, with new, faster sexier cars. Testing indicates that Mercedes might face a real challenge for the first time in the turbo-hybrid era. The key word being 'might'.

If we can't get excited about that, we can't be real fans.

It's prediction time, so here goes :

World Champion : Hamilton
Runner-up : Vettel
Constructors' championship : Mercedes
Runners-up : Ferrari
Best newcomer : Ocon
Biggest flop : McLaren Honda

This is based on previous seasons rather than winter testing. Ferrari are notorious for being 'winter champions' then coming up short when the racing starts and Mercedes are notorious for sandbagging, therefore I will accept that Ferrari are really quicker when they prove it.

Other prediction : McLaren Honda will be the slowest team in Melbourne, and if they can't get out of Q3 by Barcelona, they will divorce and Alonso will walk.

After being near the circuit this morning and hearing a free do some laps I was already getting very excited for the race. I came home and nearly bought tickets but couldn't decide so thought I would wait until this evening. Then at work I won an internal competition for corporate box seats for Saturday. I am beyond excited, this will be my fist time getting to see it and I'm like a kid at christmas. Yes this will be just for qualifying but I'm still just as excited.....I genuinely don't remember the last time I was this excited biggrin
Buy a GA ticket for the race day, it's totally worth it as the view points around the track are great.
