We've just watched the first one. My Missus hates grand prix, and normally disappears when it's on. She's watched the first, and we're about to put the second on.
Hate to quote myself, but she's hooked.Maybe, finally, we'l actually watch the races together ?
Whoever's responsible, good shout.

On Claire Willams & the son of Lou Ferrigno Lance Stroll; my part understanding of the way Claire and the Lance/Lawrence interactions are awkward might be down to the fact that her husband was Lance’s agent as well. Happy to be corrected, but it’s a complete face palm if the case. Talking of which, trousers: one scene when Lawrence gets up from a conversation it’s hard not to notice that he’s wearing like the most unfeasably tight trousers, and spends an age rearranging his coverage. I mean the guy must be in his fifties or sixties but I’m a little shellshocked his old mate Tommy H couldn’t have sewn him up a new and fitting pair of chinos. It’s just so sad.

Harris is the agent to Lance Stroll, the 18-year-old driver whose father Lawrence made billions running the Michael Kors fashion brand. Reports suggest he has paid up to $80m in supporting the career of his son, who has now got a seat in the Williams F1 car. Williams refuses to divulge details, saying only that “the numbers that have been put out there are totally incorrect”. Still, the association has led to speculation that the Stroll family could attempt a takeover. “Considering the level of criticism that Lance has already had directed his way over the past six months, why would you want your daddy to buy you a Formula One team to make you a world champion?” she says. “I have no ambition to sell Williams . . . I have a baby on the way and I would love to think that in 25 years he could be running Williams.”
Funny how things turn out...I really enjoyed watching this over the weekend - really liked the human drama, although of course I also appreciate the enormous engineering and logistics that go into F1, but this was a very refreshing look at something we never normally get to see (or hear). Looking forward to the 2019 version.

Funny how things turn out...She’s plotting a dynasty
About Harris though, mixing business and family like they have, just screams poor practice to me.
What a fantastic series. I’m actually glad Ferrari and Mercedes weren’t in it as it focused on some of the other great stories.
The Renault vs Horner pre conference meetings over dropping the engine and then Renault getting Dan Ric were excruciating.
Looks like they’re making another series for this season.

Really good documentary. I’m a very casual fan and will occasionally watch the British GP etc, but this has made me want to watch a bit more.
Guess that’s the sort of impact they wanted.
100% what they wanted I'm sure of it! And I felt the same way.Guess that’s the sort of impact they wanted.
It's genuine reality TV. And genuinely good reality TV.
It may be interesting to some viewers that, as an employee within F1, I enjoyed the series on the whole. I would've preferred regular narration to the faux commentary but even that grated less as the series progressed but, to counter that, some of the camera work at the tracks was beautiful. A lot of the in-factory work was eye-opening (I mean, we hear things, but...).
Fortunately I must have managed to dodge the cameras around our factory but my wife popped up on screen a couple of times - much to her embarrassment. I would've been mortified it they'd caught me lurking in the back of shot. I did walk in on one interview they were filming but I remember backing slowly out of shot. That must've looked too daft for them to use it.
The Sainz vs Alonso storyline seemed a tad contrived, however things like the Force India troubles were handled very well. The RBR vs Renault story was pure soap opera and done brilliantly.
I've shared an employer with a decent amount of drivers featured in the show and some of their character and personality came through like it hasn't on any other documentaries I've seen.
All in all, I thought it was very good and that a second series can only get better.

Is there going to be another series ?
I believe so, someone mentioned they spotted it being filmed at the Melbourne GP IIRC. It was all but guaranteed of course, scroll back through this thread and try and find an overall negative response from anyone
One thing I noticed was how much better the engines sounded on their feed, some of the close flyby shots almost had the high pitched F1 sound of old. I guess the TV feed loses a lot of the better sounds due to the commentator feed going over the top....although I must say it still didn't sound that great live.

Also.. It's TV, not live sport. *cough* dubbed *cough*But we can allow TV a little tinsel. Some of the TV deceit I have been involved in over the years would shock even most people that assume it's all half fake
Let's just say.. there is definitely no such thing as magic
