Very much so; by looking at tyres and posting both days' times I just wanted to provide a little more context than provided by the earlier posting, which seemed to suggest that the new boy was the second coming.
Perhaps we have a few Williams fans on here that are still looking for some fresh evidence that the Williams car is not totally useless.. Or perhaps wanting to demonstrate their ability to call a future racing star.

Reality check... He did the test, drove proficiently. He did well, he essentially matched the signed drivers times. There isn't anything else to take from it - at least not until the day (if ever) the car can take being driven to a drivers personal limit.

Hate to be an arse, but technically that's no longer true in the modern world - she could re-identify as a male without the pre-requisite dick wink

I take your point though! But that analogy is now tragically non PC. Shame, it's a good analogy.

Perhaps the truth is that a Claire & Co identify as losers and so are content to be at the back of the grid.

It is only our misconception that expects them to identify as racers.

That and the mission statement on the homepage of their website.

"Williams is one of the world’s leading Formula 1 teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing"

Hmm...

Both statements are true this year. That’s the problem - the ambition is no greater.

I'm not sure they're racing this year. They're occasionally getting in the way of some other cars that are racing.

At the season start I did briefly think that at least their drivers could race one another, but despite GR beating RK at every race, people keep telling me it's not reflective of anything, for one reason or another.

Is that "the brand alone is worth £250m" Tom Hartley?

They may have something in common - their connection with reality.

No, that was JR - before he was shot in the shower.

Williams some how missing out on the rich energy money seems to have been forgotten...
Im guessing someone at williams saw the whyte (rich energy) logo and could see it was a bit of a chancer they were dealing with.
Actually im sure I remember an F1 or williams connection with the nutty looking whyte mtb from a few years back.

Williams might have become a tail end charlie but they are not stupid and would have seen straight through these chancers with a bit of digging.

Williams announce a new development driver - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/48333331 . Might be a clever move - she's certainly a decent enough driver and might help attract some new sponsorship.

Interesting, and yes it makes sense for Williams, and good for Jamie too!

Or it could be the biggest mistake of Jamie's career, akin to stowing away on the titanic!

Haha!

I'm sure she might have wished for another team to give her the opportunity! But in the end, any F1 team is better than none. Good for her CV at the very least.
