Not a chance.

My guess is that Mercedes will go for Lando unless George is the next Messiah and they want someone more compliant. Even then, they're not going near Gasly.
Landon has another 3 or 4 years on his contract does he not.

Don't focus too much on contracts. Many have release clauses if a leading team come knocking as I understand it.

We've all see drivers go off at the end of their careers, in my case from Hill (G).
And Hill (D).

Damon pretty much fell apart at the end of his career.
Yes Damon was exhausted from battling with that pesky and relentless German bloke, despite having the dominant Williams.

Hill's performance in the Arrows at Hungary stood out.

No, sparta.

Schumacher was little or nothing to do with Hill's retirement. Damon spent his last two seasons with Jordan, where he saw very little of his unethical former rival.

His battery was already half knackered. Hungary was his best performance.

Yes we were present when Eddie let Damon win at Spa.
They later gave me the commerative victory wristwatch by Honda/Jordan.
Still in its presentation box somewhere hehe

Piastri/Norris would be a phenomenal combination. Needs to happen as McLaren at the moment is a one car team.

Agree, and Russell/Norris would also be fantastic when the time comes.

Damon was losing motivation/the will to race. It was pretty clear he was interest in his last year to the extent he wanted to retire halfway through the season. EJ managed to twist his arm; fulfill sponsors and keeping the team ticking over even though Jordan were in its prime years with Bitten & Hisses, etc.

Not good again today frown I really thought he would come back this season, but it seems not to be.

Mclaren need to cut their losses and sack him what's the point of keeping this journey man even if they stick in a rookie at least its giving them experience for the future.

Much as I love DR, I think that his days at McLaren are numbered... & he knows it.
Maybe do a ‘Webber’ & go into the WEC for a few years.
I reckon that he would do well in that... hopefully add a Le Man 24hr victory to his bow. scratchchin

They can’t afford NOT to cut him. Alpine are about to take 4th in the WDC which is very valuable.

Maybe a Bottas as a third driver... or Alonso if he wants another bash.
( Porsche returning in 2023).

That sounds like a terrific line up.

Agree with that, F1 wouldn't be as good without him his such a great character, but he can't find what McLaren need

Don’t think that he is quite ready for FE...yet.

Must be some good drives in WEC available, he’d fit in well with the Ferrari LMdH team…..

I’m left wondering, was he ever really that good? Or did the RB flatter him?
