Seems kinda puerile to me. Each to their own...Oh no - it has to be public and loud, but not actually factual or accusation - weasel words - "It is quite a thing to instruct your team to come up with a very close-looking clone of our car and of course a few people have moved over the winter period, and what you can't control is what they take in their heads"

New plan: let's keep the whining / attacking / mud-slinging / name-calling off the thread until the usual after-party relocation into the secondary school playground sets in on Sunday evening.
Please.
It would be nice just to talk about the cars / drivers / track without having to read the same old st repeatedly, both before and after the race. Seems a slur on Piginapoke's efforts to me.
Thank you.

So Stroll and Vettel 12th and 16th. Obviously it's FP1, how do we think the new Aston will do?
It's an odd direction to go if they are basically 'copying' RB, as we keep being told they want to be championship contenders, and realistically they're never going to be contenders if they're copying a competitor, there's just too much of a delay in development, so they'll always be behind.
If it is their own design and they have in fact drawn such similar conclusions to RB, then you'd assume they'd be developing in a similar way and would presumably have a competitive car quite quickly and will also continue to develop and improve over the season as it's entirely their own philosophy, unlike under with the pink Mercedes where it seemed they started strongly but almost didn't know how to develop the car as it wasn't their own, they didn't know the aero philosophy to develop it, they'd just copied a fast car, and become fast.

Welcome to the trend of F1 become more and more like football, where it seems impossible to be a fan of the sport without being completely blinkered, utterly moronic fan of a particular team. Please.

I don't get it at all personally, but simpletons will be simpletons I guess. Pictures of green cans of Redbull are pretty harmless as these things go though.

Looks to me as if the brakes failed and the gear selected locked up the rears...
Nice pic showing the discs and/or pads exiting stage left just as they were needed. That car is so dinky though. Compared to today's behemoths.
Let's hope the damage isn't coming out of Charles' salary!

Quality trolling by Red Bull. I'm starting to like them
The lighter side of the interaction between the teams needs more coverage IMO. Their social media feeds tend to be full of these sorts of light digs at each other and the sport is all the better for it. There's really nothing official they can do about 'copying' so long as AM have all the design work to show for their lookalike car anyway. Might as well get some smiles out of it at least. I very much doubt they see a copycat car as a direct competitor anyway.

Encouraging from the Mercs. Do we dare to hope?
Well.. it's always been the case that this season they have a fast car held back by problems, as opposed to a fundamentally slow car.Too early to say but I definitely believe that if they fix the problem then the car could take a leap forwards. And really only a relatively small leap is required because they're not at all far behind Ferrari and RB. Consistently far enough behind to lose out on podiums and the big points, but the actual delta in performance terms has been quite slender at most circuits.
Don't get excited, but there is every reason to believe something of a transformation is possible if they sort the issues.
