I am sure that Ted utterly hates Croft and always has done, I don't blame him the guy is a cretin of the highest order who has far outstayed his welcome, he is a darts commentator at best, the drunkards and athletic ability of most players just about suits his style and shape

he will never leave unless sacked, SKY probably think he is amazing, and you have to say why should he leave, he is living the life of riley, I also happen to think Brundle loathes the man aswell.
The mutual dislike between Ted and Croft is one of the best things about F1 coverage. I’m with Ted, Croft is a complete arse.

But Teds notebook's have gone from reasonably interesting to rambling and incoherent. Odd.

I used to watch Ted when I might learn something, now I’m not bothered

Does anyone know why every other member of the Sky Team get rotated in and out week to week, However, Crofty is annoyingly always present.......confused

Would be nice if he did the odd "switcheroo"

I look forward to Karun. I could listen to him rolling his 'Rs' all day. Plus he knows what he's talking about.

Ted is odd. He either has great insight, or he's like someone who has forgotten not to drink and take the meds they're on.

Croft going on and on about slow cars, saying the drivers should know better, maybe he should try it, in a much larger car of course.

He's a commentator, not a driver. That's an unfair comment.

He’s neither, his comment was unfair, it’s a Micky mouse circuit, it’s going to happen

Your comment was snide.

He's almost certainly doing a better job at commentary than you would.

Someone mentioned above ‘DC lives the life of Riley’. Presumably he is well paid (not a clue how much) and I also presume all the travel and accommodations are laid on for the presentation team by the Sky support staff and it all gets posted out/emailed to them. Typical weekend would be taxi arrives at their houses on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the race and takes them to Heathrow. Business class tickets to the nearest major airport to the circuit. Transfer to the five star hotel Sky have booked for them and then off to the circuit by taxi to pick up their ‘access all areas’ media passes, meal vouchers, team hospitality passes etc. and check out the commentary box. Three days work and then Sunday night taken to the airport and whisked back to Blighty or the next race venue (Business class), rinse and repeat!

Is that a fair idea of how it all works for TV presentation people in F1?

Well I assume they prepare notes / research as Murray Walker did back in the day so that has to be fitted in somewhere.

In the latter period, about 5% of the Humphries-hosted BBC F1 coverage was about DC ironing their shirts for them before the broadcasts, so we also know he does that.

Just watched the Porsche Super Cup on Sky. Exciting race with lots of action, crashes etc. Commentary was great. Guy got the driver names right, was enthusiastic BUT NO SHOUTING!!!!!! Crofty would have had a heart attack if he had been commentating!!
So refreshing being able to watch a race without ear plugs in!! .

There are things you can do.

You could write to SKY and say this moron ruins the coverage,

You could stop watching, but heck you might miss something (lol)

You could try and stream if foreign witha different comms guy?

"Come out fighting like a zoo"

What he t said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in his inane rambling, incoherent comment was he even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone watching the coverage is now dumber for having listened to it

I liked "Which one of the Mercs is going to pit" one lap after Lewis had pitted. Does he even watch the race?
