Kimi, given the fact that you have made a st load of money out of F1 and many F1 fans really like you would it really be asking a lot of you to make some effort to be co-operative during interviews ?
This. Never seen anyone so self-indulgent be so indulged.I thought I was the only one who thought that way.

Kimi, many think rally driving is the pinnacle of motorsport driving skill, what are your thoughts?
Kimi, you struggled with 300hp and changeable surface conditions, what the f*ck makes you think you've got what it takes to win in F1 again ?

This. Never seen anyone so self-indulgent be so indulged.Because:
a. It's simple common courtesy
b. It's your job - or at least a very significant part of it in modern F1
c. As a 34 year old it's not very big or clever to behave like a sulky teen

I'm not saying that he couldn't put more effort in, but then so could the journalists.
Case in point

Somebody (I think Martin Brundle) said that the problem with Kimi doing rallying was that he wasn't really interested in what the co-driver was saying. He just wanted to be in the car on his own giving it some stick. Unfortunately that approach doesn't work if you want to win.
Another contender for the rallycross series then...Bonefish Blues said:
Unlikely, but they do remember them, and that's 99% of it, isn't it - appearing interested when you aren't, being courteous when you really don't feel like it, treating each repetition of the same effing question as if it was the first time you've answered it.

Are you suggesting that people don't remember Kimi because of his attitude? That's clearly not the case, he's famous for it.Because:

His character, however you view it (from maverick free spirit to spoilt bastid) brings a little colour to an increasingly monochrome sport and world. It's refreshing to hear something other than the standard sycophantic employee praising his employer. My only concern is that he's going to become a caricature of himself, trying too hard and losing spontaneity, I think there was some evidence of that last season.

Fans get little or nothing from Kimi, who's often too busy being Kimi, to coin a phrase. No idea how he behaves with Sponsors etc - but it's good that other drivers do hold their ends up, clearly.

This is why his fans like him though. It's one of the reasons I like him, instead of being like all the others giving the same predictable generic dribble to the press. How many of the others would reply to a question asking where he was with "I was taking a sht" in a live grid walk interview ?. I'm personally glad he's never changed. My question to him would have to be Magnum or Cornetto ?
