Rebranding as in they take Ferrari bits and put Alfa Romeo badge on them. Perhaps I should have said "marketing" exercise.
Surely everyone realises that Fiat owns both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo (they have done so for decades), which should surely ensure that Sauber 'almost' gets the best of everything in 2018 and beyod ?Mr_Thyroid said:
If they stick with Ericsson, Sauber will finish lower than their potential.
...oh, apparently it's been confirmed.
However they are taking on Leclerc. If you didn't see any F2 races this year you really should look them up on youtube - Leclerc is an outstanding talent and given a half reasonable car I could see him scoring many many points next year....oh, apparently it's been confirmed.
Leclerc and the Alfa brand could be the most interesting thing to happen to F1 for a while.

Of course. Take your pick of:
1) White paint is lightest
2) Blank canvas for the sponsors
Actually, white paint is one of the heaviest as more pigment is needed to attain satisfactory coverage.1) White paint is lightest
2) Blank canvas for the sponsors
The car is a lovely blank canvas though, looking forward to 2018 season.
Forza Alfa !

The paint job looks good, this is it from the front.
They can't do much worse than this year, so with Ferrari 2018 parts, I'm not sure who is going to be at the back, maybe Toro Rosso Honda and Haas?
Edit: not sure which car that is with the high nose and upright rear wing, it's not the 2017 front or slanted rear wing.

Great news . Good for Sauber. Good for F1.
My concern is that with two of the lower order teams in F1 now having manufacturer investment (Toro Rosso and Sauber), it leaves Haas, Williams and Force India as the only true privateers. It would be good to have more independent teams (a la Manor, HRT , Caterham etc) to provide young driver seats and more competition at the back of the pack. Otherwise, long term, we could see some famous teams bumped to the back of the grid.

A few more pictures of it here from the launch. It is a very nice looking paint job https://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2017/12/02/sauber-unve...
