That's part of the game. Anyone who is betting on a sport should know it well enough to realise the circumstances that would happen. They're also going where the money is and vices have always provided plenty of it.
Gamblers are the most tedious people to talk to. The advertising of gambling also gets my goat. Portray them as.clever happy people all you like, whilst anyone that people watches the door of a betfair will realise that 95% of what they will see is depressing as f

No idea why it's not more highly regulated - can't portray a car as fast; cant portray drinking as fun. Advertising an addictive and sometimes dangerous hobby known to destroy lives? Aye crack on lads do what you want. Madness.

Is there much betting on F1 by F1 fans?
I can't say that I've ever thought about putting a bet on it and from a few perspectives, it is not an ideal sport for betting. It is so technically biased and it is obvious which teams are better than others, that the human element and therefore the uncertainty is lessened compared to other sports.
A moment like Hamilton suddenly finding over a second in qualifying is a rare event. Normally you can call the grid with a fairly decent sense of certainty from Practice. OK, not exactly, but you generally know a Ferrari or a Merc will be on the front row and that the the first 3 rows will generally be exclusively RB, Merc and Ferrari.
I suppose some people will bet on anything though.
