If only Merc were fighting with Ferrari for the championship with redbull a distinct third, they'd love this poor qualifying and dnfs, luckily for us redbull have stepped up to make it interesting
And McLaren are improving all the time too. I don't subscribe to this "F1 needs Ferrari" stuff. Let them work harder like other mid-field teams.

I heard Martin say that in comms, but I thought the smoke belonged to Sainz... Who is now going backwards.
The Mclaren's did exactly the same thing last weekend, their early race pace seems a bit off for some reason then got stronger in the second half.

From Sainz to Perez, 5th to 11th, there's less than a second between each car.

Probably frantic telephone calls from Ferrari HQ in Italy, while the Italian Press and the Tifosi begin sharpening their knives for reams and reams of analysis...

When you're desperate to moan about someone anything they say is fair game regardless.

How does Brundle et al get things wrong - thinking the Ferrari drivers the wrong way around. It’s your job FFS!

Ferrari need to press the big reset button. They’ve become a joke and their drivers are letting them down too.

Vettel is better off out of there and Sainz might wish he hadn’t signed...

Indeed. Seems like an odd thing to get annoyed about.

As did Leclerc. They both got a reprimand from the FIA for breaking Covid protocol.
You sure about that?

It pissed a few off, but I'm not aware of anything official.
I think they merely got a telling off and told not to do it again. No actual penalties.

I'm sure Haas had the same problem last(?) year when they reverted one car to the start of season spec so they could compare setups, only for them to take each other out at Silverstone.
