The level of hypocrisy is staggering.
You'll be selling your BMW, then?

It's hard to tell if you are attempting to do satire here?

If not, do you seriously think Hamilton would have been considering stuff that went on in the era of Hitler and Churchill when he was considering which F1 team to move to in 2013? If you do, I'd like some of what you're smoking.

You're a few days late and in the wrong thread
As pointed out there is a thread specifically for this and you've missed the point that Mercedes are now Marxists so can we please keep race threads to just being threads about the races?

Presume they'll just pinch one of the Alpha Tauri drivers. Sette Camara is Alpha Tauri reserve apparently.

Buemi is still listed as a reserve according to Autosport & racefans.net - not sure if they'd actually use him though.

Interestingly I suppose this season, or next we're more likely than usual to see a reserve driver actually drive in a GP session. Hope not of course, for obvious reasons.. But the chance is there.

So in with a prediction ... and much as I think Merecedes will turn up the wick and blow everyone away I'm excited by everyone's theories about Red Bull being real challengers so:

1 Max V
2 Lewis H
3 Alex A

I am absolutely hoping that everything is odd enough for us to get a surprise so will be very happy to be wrong with Lando on the podium, Alex winning it, Williams finishing 9th and 10th, Racing Point lapping Ferrari etc

Would also be amused to see Sainz take out a Ferrari and Ricciardo doing the same to a McLaren ideally both at the first corner.

Plus Vettel letting Stroll past at some point to open negotiations for his seat for next year.

I'm hoping for an odd weekend. Earlier when it looked like it would be a very wet race I put £5 on Russell to win at 2000/1

I'm waiting to see where Ferrari are on pace with their current car. Behind Mercedes is confirmed by themselves, so where are they in relation to Red Bull, and to Racing Point / McLaren / midfield teams.

So I’m going for

1. Vettel
2. Bottas
3. Hamilton
4. Ricciardo

Obviously this is a bit pie in the sky, but I would love to see Vettel be a title contender this season and beat LeClerc just to stick it to Ferrari. It would also be good to see Bottas give Lewis more of a run for his money this season. But I also really want Lewis to knock Schumacher off his perch. And finally, it would be good to see a McLaren resurgence and Ricciardo to beat Verstappen.

More likely:

1. Lewis
2. Bottas
3. LeClerc
4. Verstappen
5. Vettel
6. Albon

I’m also massively supporting Albon this season as I would love to see Verstappen under pressure again. We’ll see if he’s actually matured or whether it’s just because he was in a zero pressure situation.

That was then, with differeant people. The name might remain the same, but the people who work under that name are very different. If we all had to stick by the faults of our history, then as english people we are absolutely fked.

The problem for Albon is that not only does he have to put pressure on Verstappen, but the team as well. They have too much invested in Verstappen to see him beaten by one of their own.

On the other hand, most other drivers have to beat their teammate (apart from Stroll....). Albon just needs to get close, in a Bottas/Hamilton way, and the team will be happy.

Personally, I think he'll do OK, he's made of the right stuff.
