Great qualifying has started. I should be able to squeeze it all in bar any red flags..will have to play deaf to the misses in about a hour

The drivers aren't responsible for output that's broadcast, F1TV are. If they're being irresponsible enough not to put a delay on it that's their fault.
The drivers need to take responsibility for their own actions, not expect the broadcasters to vet them. You wouldn’t blame the broadcaster of any other live sports event for the participants behaviour.

Their behaviour is a separate topic, the broadcaster IS responsible for their output. Pretty much every live event has a delay of a few seconds to cover something being broadcast that shouldn't be. Or in the case of Sky with football in empty grounds at the moment the commentary are responsible for doing the stand apology for any language heard to cover their own arses with ofcom. It's not a new thing.
When there are crowds at football, Sky modify the crowd noise - they censor some of the more offensive chants, especially derby matches in Scotland and London.

With drivers having have four laps per outing, there couid be some penalties for blocking.

Don't know why they don't just ban them from going out on the drain and if they can't be trusted they get lap time immediately deleted or a penalty in race
Agree, but it's a liability issue now it's been spotted.
'Right lads, if you crash or spin off, just don't do it over the drains'
I very much doubt if you run over the drain once or twice it will get sucked up and cause damage its the constant driving over and at full racing speed and loads that causes the problems.

They have other classes of races here with no problems.
Circuit hasn't been used since it was resurfaced a month ago, plus very little produces as much of a vacuum effect as an F1 car.

They’ve been remarkably well behaved so far, given they all did five or six lap runs at the start.

Most did:
Out lap
Warmup lap
Push lap
Cool lap
Push lap
In lap.

They won’t have time to do two runs in Q3 if they do that.

Has anyone informed Croft that q3 and q2 is all about getting into q1?

The way he commentates its like the fastest is getting podium.

Bit absurd

They appear to either be using some sort of mastik, or spreading some sort of tarmac over them. Doesn't appear to be any welding going on for whatever reason.
It looked like some sort of mastic or no nails type stuff. How good is this stuff?
Heat cured so very good...

Russell drags the Williams into Q2 again. The rumours about him losing his seat don’t deserve to be true.

0.85s up on Latifi. That's a gap.

It seems likely that the two Mercs will be on meds for Q2. What will MV choose?

It's nice to see a track with elevation changes unlike the flat Tilke ones.
One of my favourite ever Murrayisms was this:

"This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines, and not just up, but down as well."

It’s the only chance they’ve got of making a one-stop happen tomorrow - but they need to make the top ten with the yellow stripes, and that’s looking rather marginal.

Croft just started a sentence saying DR was out of qualifying and ended the same sentence saying he will make Q3...

What a pillock.
