Not being the favoured driver at Red Bull doesn’t seem like a very nice place to be.

Albon next?
Even George Russel is defending Alex Albon.

I think Albon is being punked by internal politics. Helmut Marko doesn't look like the easiest of people to work for either. When the situation is like that, it can become toxic pretty quick.

Lewis is an exceptional talent by any measure but F1 itself is looking dull this year already due to the Mercedes dominance. There is some good stuff going on in the mid field so far but it does not make up for what is happening (or in fact not happening) at the sharp end.
Williams possibly resurgent, McLaren leading the pack, Ferrari and red bull struggling and falling into the clutches of the pack, controversy over a car design, record breaking laptimes, racing at circuits that never had F1 before.

Yeah...dull or what! God what a snooze fest.

Just watched the YouTube highlights and came to see if this comment existed. I am not disappointed.

2020 Mercedes 1 and 2, 2019 Mercedes 3 and 4 hehe

True!

Where are all the Ferrari fans these days? I remember at the start of last season every second post was pro-Ferrari. This season.. not even the odd fan trying to justify their recent cheating/hopelessness or convince themselves that they'll soon be back on top...

Glad to meet expectations smile

As Deesee pointed out last week, in a wet race if they end under SC they can claim a full 1-2-3-4-5 wink

Nor the Vettel / Red Bull fans.
From my personal recollection, the Schumacher / Ferrari domination years were the dullest I can recall before or since, coupled with the ridiculous tyre "war" between Bridgestone and Michelin, they combined to ruin F1 for years.

Oh yeah important request for any motoGP fans amongst us - a lot of us on these double-race weekends will be watching some things live and time shifting others, possibly till much later, so please, NO CROSS SERIES SPOILERS thanks.

I guess too as the BSB, BTCC, WSBK, and electric washing machine bits car thing seasons all start/reprise we could have regular 3 or 4 event race weekends, with some of us deferring viewing of stuff possibly by days

And there's yet another promising British talent out there outracing and outqualifying his much-praised teammate, one who is so good that he's been pinched by another team. What's to like? What's to make you watch the TV?

I suppose I'll just have to watch it.

There's many a slip in F1; it's history shows us that.

I totally agree. yes

Also, the people moaning about Hamilton being 'gifted' his WDCs could do well to look at Schumacher who had the entire team, including a contractually-mandated #2 driver / wingman, focussed solely in getting him those WDCs.. Hamilton really had to fight for his WDCs against Rosberg and, indeed, lost out to him one year.

Of all the periods of dominance - McLaren, Williams, Ferrari, Red Bull, I would say that these recent years of Mercedes dominance have still given us some great racing. The Ferrari / Schumacher years were exceptionally boring by comparison.

I think different people take pleasure from different aspects of F1, and some people just love to moan.

Lil'Lewis is such a lucky boy; with two half decent teammates, just wheeling in the GP wins.
Hamilton earned all he has by being an exceptional talent since his first kart race. The F1 team managers repeatedly vote him to be the number one driver that as do the current and ex drivers.

Here, we have you completely unable to simply appreciate a monumental talent.
we should learn to appreciate Hamilton whilst he continues to ply his trade. I think due to his status he is unlikely to race anything once he retires from formula 1, which would be an immense shame as we will no longer be able to witness him ringing the neck of a race car anymore. Just think about that for a minute. Lewis retires, probably in 5 years and that's it, not more from him, bar demo runs up Goodwood hill.

The Sky closing credits showed Toto raising his fists to celebrate something. I'm curious what event triggered that. He knew both his drivers would get 1 and 2, so seems a bit OTT. Hope he wasn't celebrating Hamilton over Bottas.

Well said. yes

I think the British love an underdog and, on the flip side, seem unable to praise success from a fellow countryman. For some, Lewis will never be appreciated as a true great because he is British. Or maybe other reasons.

We're seeing record after record being smashed by Hamilton yet some posters here can't even grudgingly acknowledge that Hamilton is a talent.

Given the pace that Russell went backwards down the field last weekend they're far from resurgent. It seems they've just built a Monaco car this year but haven't been able to go and try and get points there, fortunately Hungary isn't a million miles away on downforce levels and lack of straight line speed.

I've said before, I consider it a privilege and an honour to watch Hamilton at the peak of his powers. He's a talent so extraordinary that he's transcended his sport. An Ali, a Pele, a Bolt. To fail to appreciate it, for whatever reason, is to miss out, in my opinion.

We've seen it occasionally before, most recently with Michael Schumacher, but Hamilton is eclipsing even Schuey, and crucially, without number one status, and without cheating.

Watching qualifying highlights on C4.
Q1 just finished. One minute Hamilton and Bottas were leading, Perez and Stroll ended the session at the top and they never showed or mentioned it!
Maybe time to stump up for full coverage.

That's my view. Let's see what their race pace is like tomorrow - quali alone is nice but no points to be had there! Also important to remember that most of the cars they're suddenly beating in quali are behind them because of Ferrari getting busted..

if you mean sky and its quality of race coverage and commentary you're looking for, I really wouldn't bother.
