OK, I'm bored so I will bite.

MS was an extremely talented driver, no arguments from me on that score. But, and it is a big but, he always had preference from his team, enjoyed a season of tyres that were developed for the Ferrari alone even though all teams had to use them and also resorted to cheating in order to win. Many of his wins were also in a Ferrari, a team that has enjoyed 'extra support' from the FIA across the years. His Benetton was also a bit 'iffy' in regards to legality.

Those facts make his achievements somewhat tainted to me. In comparison, LH has got to his position through sheer ability throughout his whole career, from karting onwards. If he had not shown the ability he would not have got the backing of Mercedes and McLaren. In F1 he has proven, time and time again, to have the edge over the other drivers. He got the Mercedes drive because of his ability, nothing more and nothing less. He has made the best use of the tools given to him. The Mercedes is a better car than the others simply because they have done a better job with it. They have then retained the driver they perceive as the best in the world to get the results, and these are being delivered.

Nobody with any sense can say that the 1.4 seconds+ qualifying time difference between the 2 Mercedes drivers is down to the car, the difference in those conditions is always the driver, as in RBR where MV was 0.5 seconds quicker than AA.
Place these words into a well-known phrase or saying: It's waste a time arguing with Delta S of.

He doesn't want anything other than a response.

A Benetton mechanic once said that they had 'everything but cruise control' at the time of Schumacher. Not only that, they had significantly faster fuel stops due to a restriction valve being removed. In a fit of absolution, Mosley merely told off the team for burning down large parts of Germany when the rig failed to do its job. Everyone in the pitlane must have known something was going on. Brundle mentioned it in commentary during a race, and I've always wondered if that was the reason Mosely threatened to have his accreditation removed. That's Brundle, one of the most respected journos in the circus. He didn't; he was just sending a gunboat to say mess with me and no one is safe. I say everyone, but Mosely, it would appear, thought Schumacher was totally innocent and must have believed his quicker refuelling, with the metered rigs remember, were faster due, perhaps, to his brilliant driving.

All water under the bridge, or rather, fire retardant foam washed down the drains, but it did taint his first WDC given that it was cheating. It was deliberate, planned and yet the punishment was minor. Be a victim of industrial espionage in your own team, and you get hit with a record fine, at least one team and not the other will, although that's alright if you admit the boss knew nothing about it later.

Whether MS would have won his first WDC without the distinct advantages available in software, quicker fuel stops, and, some might suggest, a generous regulatory body we'll never know. That is, most sensible people will accept we cannot know, but the fringe nutters will say one way or another.

Don't be goaded by the trolls. Feel sorry for them if you must, but feeding them only makes them do it all again.

I'm reluctant to reply to you, because you're a troll and appear to have very little understanding of F1. In addition to that, various other replies tonight have hopefully slightly educated you.

You've said recently that resorting to personal insults means you've lost.

So, you've lost.

well done you, so you're only about 20 years behind the curve (kids don't even know who LL Cool J is these days, let alone any of his albums)

it also puts you behind sparta in knowledge terms (as even he knows what it means & uses it) - which is worrying

& you're only about 10 years behind an actual F1 pistonheads thread on it:

interesting read, considering Hamilton only had x1 WDC back then ...enjoy

For me GOAT means Valentino Rossi - as great as he was I'm not convinced that title fitted Senna!

It doesn't, and nobody refers to him as such.

that's where/ when i started hearing it in relation to motorsport, early 2000's when Vale started stringing championships together (I had LL's album, so knew about LL using GOAT in reference/deference to boxing/ Ali)

as for Senna - GOAT is subjective, you have about 5-6 F1 drivers in that bracket & they revolve around depending on which forum you're in (which is probably why the likes of Fangio & Clark dont fair as well as they should)

but at least folk DO seem to know what it means

In that case you should be extremely worried hehe

I decided to playlist some of LL's tracks on rotation at a certain UK channel.

I was happy to help fill his royalties pot biggrin

There's some serious stream of consciousness going on here. I'm being serious now, rambling at young-ish age is an early sign of dementia. Have a word with your GP please.

Yeah, it may have been said before this about others, but to me, the GOAT is a Charlie Cox phrase from mid 2000's MotoGP commentary on BBC, talking about Valentino Rossi.

I love how oblivious you are. I did know the meaning of GOAT. I just wanted to put some sense into you. Mainly because using GOAT in the context that you used was a multiple choice option. Not to mention that to use GOAT and the "tamburello" instead of just saying Senna is frankly ridiculous. As is the term on its own.
