It does some amazing for someone who has been in the presence and at the most exclusive parts of more F1 GP's than even the most die hard fan yet he still comes across as someone who barely understands anything that is going on , Getting drivers name's wrong is one thing and it can be difficult to tell team mates apart but he comes out with the most implausible scenarios which even a casual fan would raise eyebrows at.

It's Croft's bloody SHOUTING that puts me off more than anything. It makes his commentary unbearable to me.
If the broadcaster just set his mic. to 1/2 volume or less, I wouldn't have to keep muting the TV.

They’ve all grown up together during their racing careers and now they’re getting to race each other on the track” re the Russell, Albon and Norris scrap. Well Mr. Croft wtf have they been doing up until now?

He really is a cock isn't he?

How on earth can the knob pretend that Bottas crossing the line 8 seconds ahead of Verstappen - the same gap as 25 laps earlier and which had never been outside 8-12 seconds - is in any way exciting?

FFS, if he'd just speak at a suitable level for what we're seeing it wouldn't be half as bad.

The only thing I will say in his defence is this.

At Mugello they were all crowing about how great it was that action was there, it was crashes for goodness sake, that is what I watch banger racing for, not F1!I get a grip SKY. Saw some footage of them talking about Mick driving his Dads Ferrari and how everyone was crowing about it.

The deal is that modern f1 is struggling to capture any excitement, it is predictable, same winners all the time (usually), cars are not great to watch on tv or live, tracks are not great. I have friends that watched form a bit and gave up years ago, it is suffering, and it is also cyclical, people move on, new fans come in.

but here we go.

In Crofts defence, and this is a very big ask, would you want to do it every week? He is having to polish a very big sticking out the water poo at times.

He just needs to polish it with a little more skill and finesse.

Or even try being quiet for a few moments while his brain catches up with his mouth.

Indeed, & for some added thread drift, what's with Herbert asking questions, like asking a Labrador puppy to pack Andrex - used up all the available time saying the same thing three times, twerp.

Imagine being stuck in a small sweaty box with him.

It’s better when they have a journalist ask the questions, although they are vastly outnumbered in the paddock by the former drivers and telegenic presenter types.

Of the whole Sky team, I think that only Rachel and Ted have a journalistic background.

I agree, journalist to ask, driver to answer with informed opinion. I generally don't watch Sky, but they come across as understanding the basics. I guess one or two, such as Martin Brundle, know how to manage it, too.

Croft has to go - he misses so much of the action and is clueless on what the co commentator is saying.
Also Herbert interview with Hamilton wtf was that about.

I dunno I think Herbert kept it ultra light because he could tell Hamilton was fuming.

The only thing more annoying than Croft on sky is the continual bloody Alfa Romeo adverts

But at least they dropped the "When I race I take my time, otherwise I take my time! line.
