Yeah good point.
In fact, when I reflect on LH’s career it really is one typified by looking for excuses as to why or how others have beaten him.

Charles Leclerc with his 24th pole position.

But he only has 5 wins!

Super talented and rapidly fast but must be the unluckiest driver in F1.

Where did Lewis’ pace go
Car just isn't quick enough.
I think I read that George has updates Lewis doesn't have too.

Which is fair enough, Lewis is buggering off so...
Lewis chose not to run the updates, supposedly as they have no spares so damaging it in Quali means pitlane start as no identical parts to hand.
ready made excuse.

It's not an excuse, he actually doesn't have the updates rofl

I imagine if anyone ever gets round to writing a Wikipedia page on the guy, that'll pretty much be the gist of it smile

I think a large part of it is that over a single lap they can bang in the fastest time. But Ferrari hasn't been a consistently fast car over a race - like the Mercedes or Red Bull.

I think it has, but in recent years their strategists have blown their chances.

Strategists, pit crew, drivers. It's been a joint effort!

They have thrown away multiple race wins at Monaco. If they don't do anything stupid, or something odd happens, leclerc should walk it.

Going to be an interesting race for a change!
Why's that?
I suppose any race that is not the same winner is a novelty these last two years. It will almost certainly be very boring tomorrow though.
Hardly any difference here though. A red car instead of a blue one up the front. It'll still be a dreary procession with Croft screaming trying to make it sound exciting. Which it won't be.
Cheer up you lot, 2 potential new winners on the front row and the dominant car on the 3rd row.

Don't underestimate the ability and bad luck of CLC at Monaco to screw up the win.
And the Ferrari strategy team

I'm going for a Piastri win after Charles has one of his moments.
Me too he’s the real deal and the best circuit to show that is Monaco ( but will take a mistake from CLC for him to win tomorrow ).

Or it's simply that similar to trulli, he's pretty handy in qualifying but far too flaky in races.......

Clearly Sainz is going to win as Leclerc and Piastri refuse to concede the same piece of tarmac.

Actually... Leclerc is one of the few in recent years that has made passes at Monaco. Can piastri do the same on leclerc!? It's a big ask.

Probably far safer to wait for leclerc to crash out and then take the place whistle

Most of that is due to Mercedes and then Red Bull domination. Put him in a leading car where he's not having take so many risks and he'll be just fine

Lewis' interview was interesting. He's beginning to kick off.

'I'm suddenly two tenths slower in quali. I'm not sure why'.

'I don't expect to outqualify George again this season'.

It's may very well going get toxic. hehe
