A bit off topic, surely advertising Johny walker in the Sky programme is the same as putting a sticker on one of the cars

As if Croft's complete lack of F1 technical understanding wasn't obvious enough, during FP3 the pillock commented that the wheel tether should have prevented Alex Albon's tyre from escaping the rim when he dinged the wall. tt!

All that glitters is not gold

You can roll a turd in glitter, but it’s still a turd

Take your pick!

Looked ridiculous stood outside Aston hospitality wearing it on teds notebook. But Vegas… got to play the excited, crazy storyline.

Excellent race by Crofty. Lots and lots of meaningless stats plus name dropping all the celebs. And let's not forget the endless shouting everytime a car following another got within DRS range. Brundle's tongue must be in a right mess the number of times he has to bite it!!

We had a ‘magenta sector time’ yesterday.

Just when you thought a ‘purple sector’ time was what it had been referred to for years and years!

TBF - when the first shots were shown of the tyre against the wall which cut immediately to the rear camera on Albons car, Jenson initially said the tyre had come but then immediately changed that to the wheel had come off.

JB said again the "wheel must have come off around the hub" as JB/KC were speculating how. All Crofty said was that he didnt understand how the tethers didnt stop the wheel from coming off, to which JB/KC said the wall hit may have sheared off the suspension so tethers wouldnt have stopped it anyway...

It wasnt until a later slo-mo shot that showed the rim was still on the car, as JB then said oh its just tyre thats come off, the rim is still there .....j

The whole conversation started from JBs comment the wheel had come off

In any event the tether is not unbreakable - if it fails through sheer force after removing the bulk of kinetic energy it's done it's job. You can't plan for every accident.

Zero technical understanding. My Mrs has a far more thorough understanding than croft - and she started watching in '08 and asked me if the engines were under the bonnet (by which she meant nose cone.)

My point is that DC did not say what the poster alleged and why the conversation came to wheel tethers.

I was sat in Turn 2 at this years Indy500 right at the impact point of the Rosenqvist/Kirkwood crash....I deff know wheel tethers are not infallible after watching tyre+wheel+bits of suspension clearing the fencing at 150+ mph! yikes

Today’s “highlight” was him renaming braking points as braking events. To me a braking event is when they don’t work.

A small blessing - At least he hasn't adopted the phrase 'Straight-a-way'.... yet.

It's like nails on a blackboard when Danica says it.

Im sure Ive heard "braking events" said before on the track guides followed by "three defined has heavy" or two or four or whatever, like it's read from someones technical notes.

Re Danica, she does grate a little, like Rosberg, but they both come up with some wonderfully awkward/off kilter questions on live interviews!

The entire conversation showed how technically inept croft is, it's unbelievable after so many years he doesn't understand the very basics of how the cars work. Button was being pretty thick too. KC was doing his best against a wall of denseness to interject and failed miserably.

Whatever line of work you lot are currently in, I advise you to chuck it and immediately apply for positions as broadcast executives, since clearly you have deep knowledge of the talents required of on-air talent.

Are you speaking to everyone here, as a group?

Because you're absolutely correct. We don't know st. We also don't know how to manage football teams, ride bikes fast, climb mountains...

But as we are the paying customer / consumer. They can fking listen to our critique because without us filling their bags they would have nothing.
