Verschoor stops on the in-lap after winning the race. Out of fuel?
Why can’t they build in a side reservoir that holds enough fuel (2 litres?) to ensure that’s an impossibility?
Weight.
I’m obviously (laugh) not a race car designer - but I was thinking more along the lines below - there’s no extra weigh - but the fuel level can’t fall below the permitted level.

Your ‘safety fuel’ is the extra weight, they’d have to carry it around without using it, and even a couple of kilos makes a handful of seconds difference over the course of the race.

Now, in F2 they all have the same fuel tank, so it might be possible to change the design, but they’d all treat the new minimum level as the goal, and run the car as close to that as possible - and occasionally over!

Don't give up the day job. wink

The rules stop you doing what you suggest, you also have to be able to pump out any fuel using the FIA spec connections.

It's a spec car, no room in the tech spec for messing about with other fuel system components either.
I wondered why Mercedes never replied to my job application laugh

Ok - that all makes sense. Thanks.

She’s clearly miles ahead of the others but is this supposed to be the premier female racing championship? Can they actually get a race in?

Given a grid penalty for being too quick in qualifying then takes just 3 corners to take the lead and normal service has been resumed.

1 or two of them have brothers who were racing in karting in the 2000s usually the brothers were lapping their sisters.

That was a great deal of fun, and not only at the end.

Chadwick was in another race. Quality.

One of Chadwick’s main strengths is her consistency and just not making any mistakes. She has the speed and talent in the field but staying cool & calm, applying her driving smoothly and consistently is really helping her rise above the others. Good effort by Belen Garcia today, she’s always looked quick but perhaps struggled to show it, so good for her. Marti has also got talent, be good to see both Garcia and Marti push more at the front

Just watched the highlights. Behind Chadwick it was all going on hehe , which probably gave Chadwick more of a gap. Abbie Eaton's start probably didn't help her back.

Good use of an empty track by Caldwell. Where will he end up though?

W Series are going to be qualifying by moonlight, aren't they?

Nowhere. He’d already done his tyres, was extending his run rather than running in the gap.

Much darker than the TV makes it look now - you can see the light from illuminated ad boards and the flag lights reflecting of the track....

Good to see Powell on pole and Chadwick with a challenge tomorrow - a rain affected race tomorrow would be interesting.
