The adverts really piss me off (though not as much as the tracking) and if you try & skip forward, you need to watch another block of adverts.
The adverts might be annoying but you aren't paying to see them and they make the content free to view so they do provide some advantages wink

Yeah it's not really a complaint so much as a moan. I just have a total and utter hatred of advertising in general. This latest craze of insisting ou turn off ad-blockers does my head in, especially when things like Ghostery still tell you about all the tracking cookies that are following you around the net. I actually prefer to watch C4 on TV than the internet.

Good luck to the teams trying to sell their sponsorship packages once the advertisers realise that no one is watching it anymore! What is the true UK Sky F1 audience figures this year? (350k subscribers)

Crikey, as good as that?

Impressive....
Irony, I hope. Lee is furlongs ahead of Pinkham.

But I will concede that Natalie's rear end is better than Lee's. On that topic and purely in the interest of women in motorsport, I can confirm that Louise Goodman is still up there with Natalie where backsides are concerned.

Formula 1 drivers warn success of sport could be jeopardised...

Move to pay tv one of the big concerns.

Better than what BBC coverage had become. Glad to be rid of McNish.

Surprised they didn't bring Tom Clarkson over. He was never afraid to ask pertinent questions. Especially of the over pretentious Ron Dennis. Which I think we need more of

Steve jones will get better with time, I'm sure. Just like Jake did

Leigh still gets it. Surprised she cam on board. Though she was hoping to do the Olympics on BBC ?

Karun is a nice guy, but sorry, don't need him there. Hes the new Alan McNish sadly.

And how many of those are people on legacy HD packages where F1 was included? Judging by the new thread on the topic of Sky exclusivity, rather a lot.

That was me until I cancelled a fair chunk of my Sky package a couple of months back.
Think they have done this just to piss me off. I will have to start invading the in laws house 22 times a year.

I'm still on the legacy HD F1 package - I managed to negotiate it down to about half price, so £20 per month when I last threatened to leave, so it's not that bad.

I think Sky F1 gets closer to 850k viewers - if you google it the answer is out there.

That's a bit of a red herring as that is an average viewing figure that Sky boosted by showing a few quali sessions and one or two races on Sky 1, meaning those on basic packages on Sky/Virgin Media/BT could watch too.

Definitely some manipulation of the figures going on to boost the advertising revenue.

The whole thing smells.

How much does it actually cost to get F1 on Sky? I guess you have to pay for Sky itself and then pay some more to add F1 to your package.

Speaking as someone who isn't awash with money I could only go down the Sky route by making a saving elsewhere. The BBC's 'TV tax' would have to go to provide the budget for me to buy all the race days on Now TV and if I were ever to go fully Sky I'd have to make economies in other places too ... or find a better paid job.

I've barely missed a race in the last 25 or so years, but I'm not sure I care enough about F1 (in its current state) to bother.

That's what i'll be doing. It's a 24 hr pass so time it right and you should be able to get a fair bit of coverage on a 'day' pass.

Its on TCB too for about £3 so brings that down even more.

I have always wondered about this - 24hrs isn't enough to watch Quali and the race live is it? They do show the quali re-run, but a weekend, or F1 event pass would be much better.

Considering the short space of time C4 had to get this all sorted i think they've done a good job, Yes adverts are annoying but you can pay a Sky subscription and you still get them. Not initially warming to Steve Jones, DC and MW were excellent, So was Lee. Karun was a bit wasted given his expertise. Ive said it before but Ben Edwards is no more 'Shouty' than Murray was..smile
