Who's going to Silverstone this year?
Discussion
Well that was 90% fun and 10% horror.
90% fun, one excited 10 yr old and one excited 13 yr old. We were at Sixfields for 6am and sat at Vale for 7:45 (fast track appears to be for mugs, they were letting general ticket holders in as soon as the fast track queue cleared at about 7:15, maybe it makes more sense on a Sunday).
The rest of the day was a mix of great cars/racing, and dying in the heat. Realising just after lunch that it was easier to get a cold beer than it was a glass of tap water.was not cool. Also, getting to a preferred spot early doors and dumping some chairs there just seems an invitation for people to crowd you when they rock up mid-morning, came back once to find somebody right in front of my chair, and I mean RIGHT in front of it. He moved forward after realising my knee was under his chair cup holder.
The HEAT! The queues for water, luckily didn't need any.
Then the seemingly horrific queue for the bus back to Sixfields only to realise it wasn't that long timewise, but actually spent longer on the top deck of the bus baking stuck in traffic. Bus driver then nearly rammed another bus leaving the circuit and then dropped us off in completely the wrong place back at Sixfields.
My kids are battle hardened queue veterans (roller coaster addicts) so apart from the heat there was very little moaning, and the general consensus was "can we go again Dad, but get a Grandstand". Would not do GA again, nor the park and ride. Camper van maybe.

Might be a bit late on the day but anyone know how to change the reg of my parking pass for m40 park and ride?
I sent a message through the silverstone website and got a reply saying I could send them the booking ref and the change of reg and if I get a fine, they will sort it out later.I have amended the parking ticket and printed it out so I cant imagine they are going to computer check every reg though.

I had the same problem, couldn’t contact by phone, web site useless at changing anything so sent about 5 emails to the contact us email address and eventually had a reply saying to just change the registration number on my display ticket to the new one. Phew!
Thought I was johnny big balls getting car parking in the inner field yesterday.
Took 3 hours to leave last night! The whole circuit roads were snarled up so nothing could go anywhere. Loads of bin lorries and event cars stuck in it too.
And you know what it was all down to was the roundabout on the exit was not letting anyone out from the circuit all it would take is a traffic lights to just let out a few cars at a time. It was about 200 cars in total but it just did not move for hours.
Once on the A43 it was completely clear which was even more infuriating.
At least I'm off today and can relax at home after getting home at midnight but I'd be super pissed if I was a race team crew or media crew when they had to be back at 7am the next day.

Hope you enjoyed the historics.

How's the atmosphere?
Been here for three days and used to people now! Was odd on Friday mind!!
It’s expensive but well worth it in my opinion!
