Better than what BBC coverage had become. Glad to be rid of McNish.
Surprised they didn't bring Tom Clarkson over. He was never afraid to ask pertinent questions. Especially of the over pretentious Ron Dennis. Which I think we need more of
Steve jones will get better with time, I'm sure. Just like Jake did
Leigh still gets it. Surprised she cam on board. Though she was hoping to do the Olympics on BBC ?
Karun is a nice guy, but sorry, don't need him there. Hes the new Alan McNish sadly.
Dennis pretentious? Since MP4 days, Ferrari have 8 WCCs, Williams and McL have 7 each.Surprised they didn't bring Tom Clarkson over. He was never afraid to ask pertinent questions. Especially of the over pretentious Ron Dennis. Which I think we need more of

Pretentious means claiming something you are not entitled to. Dennis is one of the sport's all time greats.

I'll be driving down to donnie at weekend so I'll miss this. How soon after does it appear on chanel 4 player so I cam watch it in the hotel room.
Any tips for avoiding the results on their site.
I decided to watch both Australian qualifying and race highlights on 4 player and it was incredibly frustrating. It took about 5 or 6 hours for it to appear on my Samsung TV 4 player so I couldn't watch it at 5pm. The other annoying feature of the player is that if you fast forward past the ad breaks, it makes you watch them before resuming. I don't mind this on normal programmes but on F1 I like to go straight to the start of the event so that's 4 or 5 breaks. I decided to get a disk drive for the TV so that I can record the terrestrial stream and it'll be available immediately and I can fast forward through the waffle and through the ads in the race.Any tips for avoiding the results on their site.

Coulthards ace quip saying "there would be plenty of Tifosi who would gladly pay £800 for one of Vettel's nuts"
An all-time classic which prompted me to 'tweet' to DC with congratulations. If Ben Edwards 'got it' in the heat of the moment, he dealt with it brilliantly...
The race coverage is fine - not so different from BBC.
The Welsh presenter bloke is literally intolerable - but then so was the woman who fronted the BBC shows: so again, no difference here - everything's recorded to hard drive, the bla bla bla before and after gets fast-forwarded (the exception being DC's grid walk) .... with the additional reason to do so this year being to avoid the blasted ads.

I seem to be finding the sound levels all over the place. Bit quiet while they're talking, than suddenly loud orchestral background music as they go to ads etc. Annoying.
Same volume, but the adverts are companded (COMpressed and ExpANDED), basically they compress the loud parts and boost the quiet bits to give an average that is subjectively louder than normal human speech levels.Impasse said:

Susie Wolff a bit of a spare part too.
That's who it is! Knew I recognised her, but couldn't put a name to the face. I wouldn't say she's a spare part, she just needs more time in front of the camera.
Enjoying it so far. DC is quality as always. Lee is a diamond. Karun-ipedia is decent enough. Love Webbah. Steve Jones is just a presenter if he can develop like Humphries he'll be fine... at least he's not pissing Alonso off like Herbert. Susie Wolff I never liked as a driver (kinda just there because of who her husband was) but she seemed decent enough for her first time as a pundit. Obviously good relationship with Claire Williams so I liked that bit. Quite funny when asked to comment on Bernie suggesting drivers can't write.

won't criticise the new team just yet, but i certainly appreciate the quality of DC, Lee and pit commentators more.it's a tougher job than many realise.
The 3-way Red Bull drive was odd. great idea, but the two drivers came across as calm and totally in-breath whereas DC's was mic was muffled and he didn't really commentate...

Steve Jones came across better over this session - so I'd guess as pro he's tuning himself into his new environment and presentation team. Give him another two or three races and he'll have it properly nailed.it's a tougher job than many realise.
I think Webber is a good choice and a reasonable fit with DC.
Pity while C4 is getting on with pulling it together that F1 is demonstrating it shifty silly side on the qualifying. Not impressed by Jean Todt or Ecclestone - they should move on somewhere else.

Does anyone know why Quali isn't showing on All4, even in the "on soon" section? Their F1 page says the next upload will be the race coverage tomorrow?! Lowly online-only/no TV reception cretin here...
Yes when will it be on All4? I don't want to watch Antndec.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
