it's 3 of 21, lewis has taken the last 2 years by a big old margin, despite regular solid drives from rosberg, so the smart moneys got to be on him.
2015: yes
but dont forget that in 2014 Hamilton retired during the Aus GP, had a run of 4 wins to rosberg's second place to get back to being ahead before a 2 second places 2x DNF and 2z 3rd places dropped Ham 29 points behind Rosberg. It was only in the tail end of the season when rosberg had a DNF and ham had a run of wins that got him to the top of the championship (plus the double points for the last race with Rosberg finishing 14th makes it look like Hamilton had a dominant season) but for 11 of 19 races Rosberg was leading the championship.
Hmm I would say Rosberg is flattered by where the DNF's arrived. 11 wins to 5 tells a different story of dominance.

You could also argue that so do 6 consecutive wins though.

He's an excellent driver but there's something about him I can't warm to so purely on that basis I hope not.
It'll be his ears
I had the same issue with Seb when he was winning everything too!
Never had a problem with Vettel though. Always liked him even when he was fingering everyone. wink

You could indeed. Although I'd argue 3 maybe 4 of them have been relatively uncontested. Still he's making it count at the right time! 36 point lead... if Lewis starts winning with Rosberg 2nd it will take 6 races to regain the lead. That's Austria... just in time for the British GP...

Is that right???

Ha ha, did anyone just see Herbert's comments? After the Alonso interview Herbert was asked if he had driven with broken ribs, to which he said no. Then quickly added he had driven with a broken toe and thus knows you feel nothing because of the adrenaline. So basically he doesn't know but was still pushing that he was able to comment on Alonso being a wimp IMO.
I guess you don't know Johnny drove all his F1 career with feet that were smashed to pieces in an F3000 race at Brands Hatch. It is a miracle he can walk, never mind have had a successful GP career. He sure knows what it's like to drive with pain, more so than probably anyone else in that pit lane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvWawLBTh6U
I missed this. Has NRS deleted it? If he hasn't, he should. Johnny still walks with a limp now and that smash ( I was there that day) was responsible IMHO for his not winning a world championship.

Lesson in knowing something about the person you are having a pop at. JH is a very very brave man IMHO.

As an aside .. My GF used to work in formula 1 .. More exactly she used to sort out out the sponsorship decals on the drivers overalls .. Sew new ones on / take old ones off etc. Well when it came to JH's suit to make sure everything was ok she used to have to wear them to check all decals in exactly the right place as she is exactly the same size as he ...And yes she is not s tallest of girls lol... She would meet the drivers from time to time and she said Johnie was a lovely guy ..

I haven't deleted it as I didn't know about it and so it's something others can learn from (me making stupid comments). Being a younger member I didn't know how bad the crash was. Others had mentioned it previously, but not the severity, and the way Herbert had phrased it made it sound not too big a deal - which says a bit about him seeing the pictures. So I hold up my hand and say I was stupid and uninformed in my comments. However I do feel he was wrong to crticise Alonso in the way he did when he isn't actually in the same position as him to know what it is like (albeit a similar one).

I daresay Herbert was a gifted and brave racer. Most who arrive in F1 can make this claim. However he is now a journalist and broadcaster. and not a very good one. It sounds false/forced. This is a pity. I like the guy onscreen. If SKY want Eddie Jordan, they should pay the money to get him.

It's rare that I find anything about modern F1 that brings a lump to my throat.

That little piece on JH did.

I enjoyed the race today, I havent seen so much racing and overtaking for a long time.

I guess its the tyres.

I think Vettel will change his view when he watches the start incident on VT.

The racing is good because of the tyre choice & then next year they change they change to tyres that don't run out of grip which will do exactly the opposite of what we get now, again F1 snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hamilton (to me at least) seems to have lost some of that 'mojo' that lit races up regularly in the past. I know it's early in the season, but bad luck aside his performances in and out of the car seem a tad flat.

Guess we will see.

Don't understand Hamilton's strategy. 10 laps on the soft in the middle stint when he did over 20 in the first doesn't make any sense to me. They said they had a plan but I'm not sure it was a very good one.

No driver has ever lost the WDC after winning the first 3 races.
But there has never been a 21 race season, so that statistic is a bit silly.

He already has, Sky reported soon after the race that he now considers it a 'racing incident'. I like how Kyvat looked at it, he's not apologetic about going for the gap at all, as he pointed out in Red Bull's case they have to take a few risks to get on the podium.

Today was unfortunate - he'll be back smile

However, the competition has just got sharper. And I expect Vettel will want to knock his confidence.
