You can just see what will end up happening. Vettel and Redbull will start off crap, gradually improve throughout the season and end up winning the championship because of the double points system!

If they are going to award double points why not do it for the historic ones the drivers want to win, make them extra special. Spa, Monza, Silverstone, Interlagos etc
