Just done a deal to acquire one of these, next to my eurobrun of the same year it makes the Eurobrun look like a tank...sadly I won't fit in it, as Ivan Capelli was built like a jockey and the car was built around him....Neweys book reveals he didn't have enough room inside to change gear so they had to cut a dint in the monocoque for hime to shift into...

I think Ivan discusses this in the Motorsport podcast (which is well worth watching) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18b-bdFqbFo
Cheers for that, I’ll have a squiz tomorrow

If you do a search for "Jackie Stewart’s World of Speed: 1988 March-Judd 881", and watch the video, he makes a few comments about how cramped it is. It's worth watching all of them if you like old F1 cars.

One of my favourite cars, as well. Is this the one which failed to qualify in Mexico, because it didn't deal with the bumpy track surface very well, then almost won the next race on the billiard-table smooth Paul Ricard? Capelli was a big favourite of mine, a bit of a character, but suffered from being an Italian driver at Ferrari. Shame, he could have done really well in F1.

I was also a big fan of Capelli based on his drives in the March / Leyton House. Was disappointed to watch all that potential just seem to evaporate while he was at Ferrari.
