I missed the start of quali, what happened to Norris? Piastri has absolutely nailed it so McL must have found a bit of pace.

Bad luck for Verstappen with a mechanical, but it'll be far more interesting to watch him battle through the field rather than just bugger off into the distance. I still reckon he'll win the race.

Wonder why Hamilton is so far behind Russell. Running different setups perhaps? They were very evenly matched in Bahrain.

Quite an interesting grid all round. Bring on tomorrow!

That Russell pit exit must have impeded Sainz?
He wasn't on a hot lap.
Were they doing two lap warm ups?
Not every driver was, but several including Sainz were.

I love watching Toto making excuses for Ham.
Such a bad liar!

He clipped the wall on the inside of the final turn and damaged the suspension.

Agree about Piastri - he looks promising.

His contract is up at the end of the season. He's sacked his masseur. Toto has said that he won't stand in his way if he wants to leave. Russell is inspired.

I reckon LH is on the beach in his head. He's off before, or at the end of, the season. Mind you, he might be a bit slack today, but once the racing starts, he'll up his game. If he doesn't, it'll be time to hang up his helmet.

Hopefully, McL has been able to show its pace. Lando is the fastest of the pair by some distance, but not if he drives into the scenery. Poor for him.

Interesting grid indeed. Promises well for the race.

If you haven't watched the documentary on Villeneuve & Peroni, it is on after the quaki show.

I'm watching it right now, On Demand, and it is very good

I know it is F1 history. I know it was important, but subheads like 'The Untold Story' put me off. There were so many explanations at the time that it is a safe bet that one of them was near the mark. It was a sad time. I'm not sure I want to experience it all again.

The footage of racing looks good.

Lewis barely, barely any quicker than Piastri in a stbox McLaren and almost 0.5sec slower than Russell. That's got to hurt.

Did he make an error?
No, it’s because Lewis Hamilton is st.

That’s what you’re looking for isn’t it?

Pathetic

Alonso or Russell need to mug Perez at the start and make it interesting.

I wouldn't call Lewis' performance pathetic, think you're being a bit harsh tbh.

It's not very nice from Mach, but at least you can appreciate his honesty.

I haven't watched the interviews yet (watching the Villeneuve Pironi doc) but Lewis this weekend looks a bit out of sorts and, well, kind of slow. Not too often we have ever said that!

Not sure if you two are playing along with Mach's satirical post or are in need of a Whoosh Parrot
