Not bad. Massa, Merc engines, Pay Symonds.

They just need Ross Brawn, and they will on to something (like not wasting their money!)

That seems like a strong line up, just hope they can screw a decent car together to make the most of it.

I wonder if Rob Smedley will go with him, or if he will stay at Ferrari and be Kimi's man on the radio. Should be some interesting conversations if the latter.

He was heading to Williams for next season anyway - but I dont think hes going to be doing the same job.

This is great news - I dont think people remember just how good Massa was when he was at his peak in the Ferrari. Hes shown glimpses of in recent races.

Rob's already confirmed at Williams. Although apparently with a different role.

His one lap pace has been very good recently, just needs to put whole races together. Maybe this change of scenery will do him good?

Reminds me of everyone thinking Lewis had lost the plot this time last year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Massa gets more points/podiums/wins than Alonso next year. It could happen.

If Fernando was driving a Dacia Sandero, possibly biggrin. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend betting on it.

Bah. Thought we'd finally be shot of the muppet. Goes from wasting a ferrari seat to wasting a williams seat and further cementing his incredible mediocrity.

What a shame for Williams. Guess if they didn't need the cash so badly they wouldn't even have considered him.

Sorry, should have been more specific. I meant that by the end of the year Massa could have more points or podiums or wins. Ors, not ands.

That said, from what the expert pundits are saying the Merc engine is the one to have. It only takes the Ferrari engine to be way down on power and FA and KR will be battling it out with Max Chilton (also Ferrari powered, I believe).

You seem to forget that he was about one corner away from being world champion a few years ago, and but for luck would have been. His accident and injury may well have affected his driving, but to call him mediocre and a muppet is entirely uncharitable.

Yes he came close and his best chance at winning the wdc has passed. To not criticise him because of his accident is patronising I feel. He recovered enough to continue as a driver and thus should face the same scrutiny.

It's more that I feel there is some serious talent waiting in the wings and several midfield, mediocre drivers should be moved on.

God no! I am a big Williams fan and wished that they didn't have to plump for pay drivers. I think Bottas is a star of the future.

But for Alonso and Briatore you mean.

Not a link but it's in the Pat Symonds interview in the Oct 24th Autosport
