It's lost, not grounded.
Nope, grounded due to technical fault. It was there at the start of the FP1 and the pilot reported that he had a fault and could not take off. The red flag ensued and a replacement was sought.MartG said:
I'd love to see him finish ahead of Grosjean
Not going to make Grosjean or Raikkonen look to clever if Kovalainen does manage to finish ahead........I mean it would just prove how much Raikkonen has been struggling lately and undermine Grosjean's confidence a bit as well..... next year he is supposed to be team leader and if he can't even beat Kovalainen (who was always fairly average) then it doesn't look good does it. Raikkonen has secured a drive for a team that's going to be actually paying him on time, and probably considerably more than Lotus did said they would. Has anyone who is working garden leave ever put in more than the absolute minimum of effort required?
Exactly. I think Raikkonen got dealt a bad hand this year - and I think that he did try quite hard until it became clear he wouldn't be a championship contender. IainT said:
I really hope that kovi has a good race. He looked very good in practice yesterday considering his lack of seat-time this season. He is, in my opinion, not a top tier driver but is well in the chasing pack.
Agreed, strong mid-tier. Would love to see him in something like the Sauber.Reported by Andrew Benson on the BBC website:
"Things in Formula 1 you couldn't make up, chapter 327. It was discovered on Friday that Mexican flags being sold on McLaren merchandising stands here for fans who wanted to support Sergio Perez had the image of a cannabis plant on them - the result of someone from what McLaren describe as 'a third company sub-contractor of an agent' the team use searching on the internet for a picture of a Mexican flag to use as the basis for the design and choosing one with the plant on it, thinking it was the genuine one.
"McLaren, who had no input into the situation, have put out a statement of apology and removed the flags. An interesting aside is that the agency is owned by Prodrive, the motorsport company owned by former F1 team boss and current Aston Martin chairman David Richards."
